Re: Beta 34 - unwanted addition to the compile section layouts

Hi You may have been told of this elsewhere because it's such a glaring bug ... when one goes to compile an ebook, the Heading for Chapter One (and subsequent chapters) now has this formula beneath 'Chapter one' in the Heading box: <$rst_scene> This isn't editable within the main program... I was c...

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

I'd love to have gone back to Beta 32 (having just spent an hour reinstalling and updating 1.9, then copying over my recent work there  ) but I couldn't find it anywhere on the L&L site. Do you have a link? Or a procedure to roll back? The installers for Beta 32 appear to be still present,...

Beta 32 previous installs don't fully uninstall

I just read the Beta 33 announcement with a little care, and thus de-installed Beta 32 before successfully as ever installing the new version. When I did, I noted three prior version 'apparently' still installed. This is a familiar problem, as was that Win10 Settings Unstall just gave an error rathe...

Re: Formatting error when editing with ProWritingAid

As other people might be thinking of buying PWA for the sole purpose of working with Scrivener, I will start a thread elsewhere cautioning people about such issues. Well, as others have suggested, much the best to report to ProWritingAid Support that you and others are trying the BETA of Scrivener ...

Re: Beta 27 Possible Memory Leak Issue (with steps to reproduce)

One more data point on this -- simply took a Research section about the length of a short story, put it in Scrivenings mode, clicked on and off the Research folder a number of times. Each Scrivenings mode click on the folder added circa 50MB to memory used by Scrivener, in the (all latest) Win10 Tas...

New info for dev team - Bryan, do we need to post a new topic?

This in the last several posts added to https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=57721 . An amount of investigation done, which may shorten effort for Tiho and Lee. Anything needed to be sure they see it, as I think they are working in this Complie area at present? Thanks, C...

Re: [LH3614 | LH3790] Compile error: some linked sections in the compiled document (PDF) start with <$rst_scene>

Manni, it sounds you are wise, in your publishing circumstances, indeed to stick with the Mac version for now. It's what I would do, and one can remember this is a Beta, with release extended to allow fixing all such things as this that have turned up. I would say up-fron t that I have quite high co...

Re: [LH3614 | LH3790] Compile error: some linked sections in the compiled document (PDF) start with <$rst_scene>

Manni, I decided to have a look over this, since I also wanted to understand how to do a manual ToC, which is what I think you must be doing, for a Word, PDF, etc. output, as the automatic ToC on ebooks seems to handle itself. I think it's worth prefacing, and as may help your feeling of being overl...

Re: Is it possible to convert back?

If installing Scrivener takes hours, something is wrong. Please post in the appropriate support forum (or the beta forum) about your experiences. Katherine Or have your husband or a helper do this, Robin -- appreciating what you thoughtfully let us know. I think this will all work out -- as Katheri...

Re: Kerning in Times New Roman

Then I remembered reading about the new font hinting options and I turned font hinting off and it seems to work. at any zoom now on both PC and laptop. Both are running Win 10 64-bit. Yes, that's the answer -- the one we spent a month or two working up... Times New Roman looks fine at any magnifcat...

Re: [Beta 29] PDF compiles work now, but not yet with transparent theme colors

Just to tie things together as useful, looks like another aspect of the problem from @Abeehiltz, here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=303724#p303724 How I got the issue: - I use the dark theme all the time, - I compiled in pdf my project - the footnote is on the document (I...

Re: [Beta 29] Footnote is in white fond on white background when compiling in pdf while using dark theme

How I got the issue: - I use the dark theme all the time, - I compiled in pdf my project - the footnote is on the document (I can find it with the search option) but written in white and not black like all the text. The footnote is showing in dark in RTF, or when I compile in PDF with the default t...

Re: [Beta 29] PDF compiles work now, but not yet with transparent theme colors

Well, good idea, and had thought if there might be something like that. However, trying it out, this checkbox instead amplifies the problem. With it, _all_ the fonts in the export, not just the chapter bodies that should be affected, went to 'ghost'. Image of part of it attached - note the title etc...

[LH4196] [Beta 29] PDF compiles work now, but not yet with transparent theme colors

Glad the empty pages are gone! What you describe sounds like a separate bug which deserves its own thread. ;-) So, here we are. compiling to PDF export now works nicely in the former problem case, where not over-riding formatting. Except, it is also replicating the font color you have for text, usu...
