Re: another super list of fixes

so far as you are so perfectly satisfied with the product, I am not sure why don't you consider purchase of the full version 2 for Windows right now, before the version 3 final release? This is a very good suggestion from @biblioman, as far as supporting the Scrivener team if you haven't purchased ...

Re: Notes in Short Story Template

Tricky -- it does just what it says. I thus had the opportunity forthwith, to learn how to create a bookmark to an already present document... Actually, there are several ways, but the easiest is to right-click the document title in the Binder, then select Add to Project Bookmarks in the drop...

Re: Beta 43: Misformatting for MSWord and PDF around Footnote positions, option suggestion also

Sorry, narrsd, but I could not spot the problem. The Inspector Footnote anchors are underlined when compiled to RTF/Word but do not have a text background color(default light gray color). The blue underline link decoration can be removed via unchecking the "RTF Compatibility" > "Ensu...

Re: Comparing to how others do it -- Scrivener releases, etc.

Affinity software is great. It's also true that Publisher is a brand-new product, whereas Windows Scrivener users have been waiting for years for the official release to catch up to the Mac version. Affinity also doesn't lock their users out two or three times a month. Let's make the comparison fai...

[LH4435] Beta 43: Misformatting for MSWord and PDF around Footnote positions, option suggestion also

Scrivener takes the nearest word to an Inspector Footnote position, and adds both underlining and background color to it. This we can find is intentional, to make scanning footnote positions easy, and to provide a marked easy link to get to the footnote itself. This feels a good feature (though it w...

Re: [B42] Compile to Ms Word errors

Couldn't stay away from this, as I want to use footnotes -- thus discovered two further things, a feature and a bug, for @tiho_d. 1. For @biblioman, I think there is a feature which will do what you want in a global footnote font setting, at least for the time being. If you have a look in File | Opt...

Re: [B42] Compile to Ms Word errors

In your screenshot the “Override font” checkbox is not checked, narrsd. When you check it, does it help? Absolutely. Just found that myself, and logged in to report. Do notice remaining bug, please, but this is much better... ⋅ Footnote Font override now seen working: no bug there ⋅&...

Re: [B42] Compile to Ms Word errors

@narrsd: I checked your project. There was only one custom compile format "Paperback (6" x 9") Test New Page HeaderFooter", so I believe this is the one you were testing. Hi @tiho_d, and this is where something is quite different in what you tested, vs. my posted test project ac...

Re: [B42] Compile to Ms Word errors

@tiho_d, thanks -- here's a zipped fresh small project, A Footnote, with Word output. Again, if I haven't missed something important. The Footnote font originally said it was Palatino Linotype 10, but came out in the compile as Sitka Small 10. The footnote format was 1,2,3 I saved these changes, usi...

Re: [B42] Compile to Ms Word errors

@tiho_d, I'd certainly agree that over-excited posts aren't clever or useful. I have though just tried this out - as a chance to learn a facet not yet used of Compiiles, but it doesn't seem to work, so may deserve a bug listing. It's a little hard to discover, but then with the Gear at bottom left, ...

Re: Formatting error when editing with ProWritingAid

In short, as of version 2.0.36 (released 16th of March) I'm no longer seeing the problem. Thanks @adrm, great to hear that, as I'd just followed the update alert and installed. Whatever I was talking about above with regard to binder selection, this is also working fine now also, including quiet sa...

Comparing to how others do it -- Scrivener releases, etc.

As many of us, I'm pretty busy with attending to needs here in the present circumstance, but it's helpful also to think about other things. I just had a view on another constantly-developing app, of comparable complexity to Scrivener 3. This is Affinity (Serif) Publisher, also twinned (tripleted??) ...

Re: Online Sharing/Editing like Google Docs?

Just to support, yes, actual shared/collaborative editing would be, and as @wordjoy recalls, has been a mammoth technical and logistics challenge. This is why I suggest using Google Docs etc. if you want to do it, for something that works. It isn't 'just' any matter of file locking or server farms, ...
