Re: Microsoft Word versus Scrivener

I have been using Scrivener since version 1.5. I can't imagine getting along without it. As a teacher, I have all my class preps, lecture notes, assignments—just about everything related to teaching in a scrivener file. I also have a couple of scrivener files containing creative writing. I only use ...

Re: Scapple Beta - New Users Please Read

I love it!

I think you should shoot for a 12/21 release date and charge $12.21 for it. :)

Re: Feature wish-list - the most important one

I just downloaded the beta to give it a whirl--I love it! I add my vote to keep it simple with maybe the addition of one new feature--the ability to change the style of the connecting lines. :)

Re: It's Not Plagiarism. It's "Repurposing."

Just a few thoughts--as an English instructor at a college, I see a lot of plagiarism. I also fail every one I catch. As far as the thought that everything that can be thought of and created has already been done--rubbish. There was a debate about a hundred years ago or so that centered around closi...

Re: Magic Trackpad

I have both the Magic Trackpad and the Magic mouse. I use a 13" macbook pro and a 24" cinema display. My thoughts... The magic trackpad is nice but I don't use it much. It also requires Snow Leopard to work properly. It does tend to give my hand cramps if I use if a lot. The magic mouse is...

Re: I'm confused about this update pricing

I'm a bit confused by your logic. Since I bought Windows 98 when it first came out then I should have gotten Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7 for free, right? With your logic the people who bought the program a week before the new version came out should have to buy it all over again for full price, r...

Re: Password Protection and perhaps some sort of encryption?

Hello, I searched the forum and found a couple of threads dealing with encryption. I decided to bump this one up and ask some questions rather than starting a new thread--I hope this is okay. I use Scrivener for a lot more than writing my usual drivel that I like to pretend is the start of a novel. ...

Re: 2.02 cripplingly s-l-o-w

I have a MBP 2.26 ghz core 2 duo, 4 gig ram. Scriv 2.0.2 opens a project in less than 2 seconds for me. It saves and closes in about 3 seconds. Our systems are nearly the same so maybe something else is going on to make your system so slow? I don't know what it would be but I posted as a reference s...

Look in Preferences and then Auto-Correction. There is a check box for that.

Thanks Keith, that was the clue I needed to find the easter eggs! :)

As for the icons, I like them.

As for the divider line, I like it and think it is much better than the alternating colors.

Re: folder sync?

Why do you feel sorry for KB? He decided not to reciprocate and engage in passive/aggressive behavior--I don't think that is anything to feel sorry for. In fact, I think a round of applause is in order.
