Hiya I'm running into a repeating issue using Scrivener on multiple iOS devices. I have a project that is only used on iOS devices, and hasn't been opened in weeks on the desktop. Issue: If I switch between working on two iOS devices (always syncing between) any changes I make on one device get flag...
As someone who was a windows developer before I moved to windows based web development before I moved to objective C... you've hit the proverbial nail slam bang in the middle of its head. There was a time when I would have said 'Managed C# .NET' and not thought that anything other than it being the ...
Keith is right, iTunes & Dropbox are the options that will be available in v1.0. Other possibilities have not been permanently closed out but will have to fight for their place in the post v1.0 development schedule. It's worth keeping in mind how small L&L is compared to some of the bigger k...
Yes As Ioa says we'll be testing heavily on all three iPads as well as a plethora (Isn't that a kind of dinosaur?) of iPhone models. Although the iPad 1 has half the RAM of an iPad 2, which in turn has half the RAM of an iPad 3, we're not expecting to have to make any compromises between devices. Jen
But there's more to it than just a screen, and the iPad 3 has additional RAM, a faster GPU (Driving many more pixels!), bluetooth 4 and potentially 4G networking too (All my iPads are wi-fi)
Well I have my iPad 3* now, and while there's no doubt the screen is lovely I'm not 100% convinced the other changes have quite so much "win". The plus: - The display is gorgeous. If you care about how your words look the difference is amazing. - The display is crisper not just higher reso...
Hi Sorry to tease, but I thought it would be interesting to show you how nice Scrivener is going to look on a retina display iPad. Apple have already updated the development tools to allow us developers, so this is a screen shot from the iPad simulator. Like everyone else I have to wait for until th...
Don't worry :D Although I can present plenty of evidence to the contrary (And I'd be disappointed if Keith and the rest of the team couldn't as well) there's plenty of common sense being used to put together the app. And yes, it'll be a usable Scrivener that can sync with your work on the desktop (M...
Sorry, but a custom keyboard is definitely not on the cards. It's technically possible but given the spectrum of keyboards that exist for different regions and the logic behind them it would be a significant undertaking to replicate the functionality. But... The app will only bring up the onscreen k...
I'm not sure if a full desktop app with virtual mouse control was really your answer to the "What do you want?" question, but it's certainly not how the app will work. It will be a fully native app, different from the desktop but familiar in some of the key Scrivener concepts - no mouse co...
Jenny, don't you think this would be a great help to writers, and a very natural way of reorganizing text in a single file with fingers and dragging? I do actually, and before I became involved here at L&L I had spent time designing (not implementing) various interfaces for editing, including a...
Keith's latest thoughts on iCloud: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17043&p=118152&hilit=icloud#p118152 In summary, iCloud is unlikely to make it into the desktop in the immediate future, and unless Apple do something unexpected isn't going to make it onto wind...
I can see PDF annotation being a useful tool to include, but it's probably not going to make it in for an initial release (nothing's in stone though). If you could have a PDF in your scrivener project and be able to 'open in' goodreader (which I also love), annotate and then again 'open in' Scrivene...
While I quite like the idea of having access to the forums on an iPad, I don't feel it's a feature that will deliver enough of a benefit to spend time implementing, testing and supporting it, not when stacked up against the other existing (and new) features we want to implement. The forums work well...
The iOS version of Scrivener isn't going to replicate every function of the desktop. It would be impossible to implement every function on a tablet UI, and it's not something we see a need to do. If you want something that's "about the size of a tablet" and capable of running Scrivener the...
