Before I push that button, just want to make sure my OS hasn't been left in the dust. OS 10.12.6 is as far as the local pros were able to make this old machine go. Thanks!
This may explain why I was fairly certain I had already installed Scriv 3 last year or earlier this year... there are references to it here when I am asking about page break before in page view across in assembling a poetry ms (never did get a good solution to that, alas... 2 was better for poetry M...
Somewhere recently I saw that Scriv 3 should probably not be installed on a machine older than 8 years. I think mine is 9 or 10 years. At the same time the specs on here say that it can go back to Sierra. I am running 10.12.6, professionally installed. So...? Should I roll back to Scriv 2.something ...
It seems to me that I had to do a few jiggly things to make the backup go to the right place the last time I upgraded Scriv. Now that I have 3, the whole pathway doesn't seem to exist. Or at least, I can't find the backup with a search and the various files/directories have iterations in slightly di...
Hi thanks, I had tried that, yes. And I'd also tried searching dropbox and trash with no results, but it turned up in trash after all. This has happened in the past...I don't trust search in Mac though I know many love it. I think dropbox did something with it, not Scriv. Now I need to know where to...
OK, when I looked under deleted files in dropbox, I found all the poetry files. There is no way I would have had time to delete them myself between when the file closed and when I started looking for it. So...???? I am afraid to reopen... will try backing up on stick and finding a way to back up on ...
Thanks! I didn't know you could do that. I see: the info and scriv file that I opened afterward as a test. That's intact Some writing.history and other scattered data that is from about the right time this afternoon when the missing file closed, but apparently there is no program on my machine that ...
I must have hit ms close for some reason, maybe aiming at the minimize button for another app. Suddenly it said it was backing up and it was gone. REALLY gone. Wasn't in my project shortcuts folder, nor was the backup. The backup location specified in the preferences didn't exist anymore. (Lots of d...
Tarae, maybe for the purposes of layout we need to delete a line or reduce the fonts? Just create a dummy draft to get eerything into position, but don't forget to go back and fix everything prior to compile? Definitely not as cool as the old way.
Do you know why we are getting random blank pages in our editors--2 page views in layout? It's okay with me, and probably with others--if we change the settings in compile. The point is merely to see how it will flow (or close) in the manuscript form *as we are making our decisions about how to move...
Agreed. The places where you can't make changes are jarring. This includes the overall toolbars/titlebars, and especially the rulerbar area. I change all the colors pretty much everywhere to get rid of whites and grays--ie, to get rid of blue light as much as possible all the way to the outer edges ...
