writing tools

Just saying I super miss the writing tools in the Mac version--dictionary and thesaurus. Linking to an external site--just not as cool, and I loved being able to explore the rabbit hole of finding definitions for words in the definitions, and thesaurus options for THOSE. I haven't tried the Beta, so...

typewriter

Hi, still using the 1.whatever latest version of Scriv for win. Typewriter seems to have only one option, 1/2 way down screen, whereas in the Mac version I also could set it for 1/3. I miss that, just saying, since this is the feedback page. On my Samsung curved monitor it actually seems to be lower...

Re: Can you compile from outside the Master File?

I tried making the submissions folder a collection, but that only allowed me to compile the entire folder and not one of the sub-sub-sub folders, which is what I want to do. Thanks

Can you compile from outside the Master File?

Because the move function is so cumbersome in the Win version (in Mac you can "move to <folder> again," which if you're creating a submission of several poetry files is a lifesaver), I tried moving my submissions folder out of the master (since it doesn't make sense there anyway). That wou...

Scriv for Win keeps closing

When I'm working with the binder... if I right-click on a folder, it's taking forever to reveal a menu, and often just shuts. It's a poetry project and contains a million files, so is it just too big? I didn't notice anything like this in the Mac version.

Re: Compile: what am I doing wrong

Ah, figured out that it's an option/preference... fixed that, so at least it opens with no preference for a project.

Re: Compile: what am I doing wrong

nope. one of the questions i've had is WHY does Scrivener open with the last project? it means you have to go through the backup process, which is very slow in Windows it seems, with every project that's open, even if you didn't choose to open it. so if something gets corrupted when you weren't look...

Re: Compile: what am I doing wrong

Note that it was fine before. I had moved the files to a folder from which to compile them, so I could see them before. Now all gone. Everything in the project.

Re: Compile: what am I doing wrong

Thank you! Not sure what else to say about project being blank. Binder is there, with all file names, no content in the files. Just true of one of the projects. Everything else seems to have come across ugly but intact. I am hoping I will be able to open my nearly dead Mac and reconvert to Scriv 2 f...

Re: Please help! My manuscript is empty!

I've got the same problem. I moved the whole folder. The last time I had this file open, a couple of days ago, it was fine. Now there is no content in any of the files. I can only hope that there is enough life left in the old Mac that I can try reconverting the files to Scriv 2 for Mac and moving i...

Re: Compile: what am I doing wrong

Well, now the whole project seems to be empty of content, which was not the case the other day. This is just great.

Re: Compile: what am I doing wrong

Thank you! I'll try it. One problem is that I'm not seeing an expanded compile options window, just a dialogue asking where I want to put it and in what file format.

Re: What I hope to see

Thanks. I'll try to get to it. It sounds confusing to me running different copies of everything at the same time. I can barely get used to what's on my drive now with all the version names. But maybe next week it won't sound so daunting. I would think the devs would look at this forum as well, since...
