Re: Getting images into Scapple

This happens only sometimes for me. I'm using High Sierra 10.13.6, 2011 MacBook Pro.

Re: Scrivener 3 Freezing OSX High Sierra

I have the same issue, but I find Lunk is correct. My machine is old, my project has 5800+ items and I have little memory. Scrivener takes a long time to open/save/close (esp. if you backup the project on close) in such circumstances.

Re: Keywords in iOS version

Given the limitations you've stated, KB, maybe a trimmed down version would work. Is it possible the background document color could be used as a workaround?

Re: Customizing the Editor - no style VS creating manuscript style and a margins question

There are many things Scrivener can do. KB says there's n one way to use it and to completely avoid any feature you like or use them as you please. There's no best practice for writing but what works for you

Re: Best Practices for Poetry

These days, I use Scrivener exclusively for my poems. Originally, I did as was desbribe din the first post. I also used keywords to make lists of kinds of poems. Eventually, I used so many features that the project would load slowly or lock up. I simplified. Now I number them and put them in folders...

Re: "The file can not be opened it doesn't exists! " Error message!

I have this same error, but I have not had the data loss. I store the file that has shown the error on my Mac only. Closing and re-opening the file usually makes things return to normal.

Maybe this helps track the issue.

Re: Working with large *.scriv folders

I'm on the Mac and see the same. I have 5300 files in one project. Splitting the files down doesn't work--that's where I started. A mix works, though.

Re: moving keywords between large documents

To clarify, I have a project with 1000+ document with keywords. I want to copy the keywords for those documents from one project to another project with the same documents, but without keywords, so I don't have to go file by file and add them. I have tested this and find no way to copy keywords from...

Re: Styles do not apply

I have been able to select all similar style and make the changed I wanted. I thank you all for your help. Solutions have been found! I would like to point out KB has always indicated no one need use all of Scrivener's tools. So if I wanted to style everything by hand, flying in the face of the new ...

moving keywords between large documents

Say I had document A and document B both of which were viewed in Scrivenings mode. Say also that I had copies of document A and document B, but the difference is they have keywords. If I wanted to copy the keywords to the first set of documents from the second, could I copy and paste them? Would tha...

Re: Styles do not apply

The reason is that "Styles do not apply" and the issue is definitively one of size after my latest efforts. Section types & layouts are not the issue, nor styles, just that my file is too damn big.

I broke it in to 100 doc chunks and everything works as expected.

Re: Styles do not apply

Somehow, my response didn't post, so: You all have added to my understanding. I can't get Scrivener to consistently apply styles via the Select Similar Styles option likely because my file is large, 1000pp. altogether. Whenever it doesn't work, I have to edit the documents in the project by hand. I'...

A feature request (bc I don't know where else to put this)

It would be useful if, in the Binder or in the compiler, if a set of selected documents could be saved as a preference. Example: Given documents A-Z in the Binder, I could save the selection A, Q, S. Could then re-use the selection without having to manually do it. I think this used to be a feature ...

Re: Styles do not apply

I have solved the issue. It is one of size. 5117 documents is too large. Breaking them up into groups of 100 allows Scrivener to do as I ask. Making 140 actions is better than 10,234.

Thanks for your efforts.
