Re: Syncing / PlainText / MMD

In PlainText I reduce some of the MMD-on-iPad pain with a dose of textexpander (e.g. "i/" to *%|*, "b/" to **%|**). The cursor repositioning between the marks works, much to my surprise!

Sounds like the best of both worlds!

Sure. It seems to work the same way as Preview, by overlaying rather than imbedding the notes. If that makes any sense at all... :?

Andreas, this might seem too obvious: drag your mouse to the top edge of the screen when in full screen mode. Otherwise, this may be what you need (not sure about it floating, I haven't tried): http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/24561/widget-to-desktop There are plenty clock widgets around, I'm sure y...

Cheers LL, my pleasure. A few things I like about Skim: - the full-screen mode, that gives easy access to table of contents on the left and list of notes on the right (drag mouse to the edge of the page) - the recent history of pages read, symbolised by darker shades the more recently they were view...

Pop-up menu in outliner (minor)

Keith, This probably isn't 1.041-specific. When I have a full "Synopsis" in the outliner, the "Label" and "Status" popup menus are vertically centered to the whole item, rather than being positionned right below the mouse cursor. This is fine for single line items, but ...

Timotheus, have you given Skim a try? It has a better annotation system than Preview, and yet is way lighter than Abode (you'd need the pro version anyway). And it's free. I've made it my default pdf reader instead of Preview.

You may only need to impose a reasonable default width for new projects (~600 maybe?), and provide a little dialogue window when an old project is being updated to the new 1.1 format ("Do you want to force all pages to be x wide: Yes/No"-ish). If that number is inherited from the old proje...

Keith, I think Olivier is referring to the fact that (at least in imported projects), the pages get pushed all the way up to 35,270 cm wide... The text therefore does not wrap, so unless you press return, you just go on and on and on... and...on. With the ruler made visible, you have to go and fetch...

I tried cocoAspell, SpellCatcher and GrammarianPro, and finally decided to keep GrammarianProX a few months ago, mainly because of the richness of its grammar checking. It has also replaced Typeit4me (a better textexpander-like imho). The only advantage I thought SpellCatcher may have had was it's G...

Automated US to UK spelling

Hi folks! Does anyone know of, or feel inclined to design, a way to change all American spelling to (proper) English? *ducks flying chairs* OK, it would be nice to have the reverse too, and Canadian flavours as well... (Trying to add a little PC here). I often get documents from people who write in ...

Maximum cap to inspector width?

Hi Keith, I didn't find this mentioned specifically before, but I may be wrong. In a previous thread you mentioned the use of minimum widths for the main panel and for the inspector (http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=555). However, would it be possible to add a maximum width fo...

Keith,
Would Paypal - UK be an option? They allow you to keep accounts in £s... I know people are sometimes reluctant to use Paypal, though I have never had a bad experience yet. Don't know if you can incorporate Paypal code into scrivener, though.
Cheers,
Simon
