iOS Create link to new document?

One of the things I like about Scrivener for MacOS is the ability to do wiki linking just by typing enclosing with double brackets "[[" "]]". If there's no document with that name, I have the option to create a new document in a folder of my choice. Is there any way to create a n...

Placeholder questions

⋅ What is the expected result for compile with a custom metadata checkbox field? (At the moment it seems to do nothing.) ⋅ Is there a placeholder for a custom metadata field's label ? (ideally, it could be incorporated conditionally based on whether there's content in that field...

Re: Airdrop

1 of the trickiest aspects of this copy-instead-of-sync method (via iTunes, iMazing, etc) is keeping track of the last location one edited the project in. If you can think of a system for tracking this before you start, you may save yourself some headaches later on. (I haven't come up with a failsa...

Re: Scrivener 3 Auto-Centers with Typewriting Mode OFF and Lags Typing

I’m experiencing lag, too, everything seems to be running a bit slower in general . At first I thought that it must be project size but the project is less than 2 GB. Further, I noticed the longer the project is open the slower it runs, and the more memory it uses. Currently Activity Monitor has Scr...

Search for Links, Prefs macOS

If you haven´t already, please consider adding
  • search field for link to existing document, as exists on iOS
  • search field for preferences
Thanks.

Re: Guide for Offline "sync"

The user manual also has some tips on usage, see §12.1.2 starting on page 147. I’ve also posted into a few threads that discussed these sorts of options. Here is one . I can now write a guide on what NOT to do. Don't use the iExplorer demo Disk Mode to open a 250 MB Scrivener project when Sc...

Re: Sharing

in iOS 10 you can also print a file to PDF in Safari, and send that to Scrivener. Hugely beneficial for my workflow. Indeed, the project have to be open already, and if you go to the right folder in Scrivener first, it will put the PDF in that folder. It's a bit non-intuitive to get the Save to PDF...

Re: Change a file into its own project that appears on the project list?

If you have one "scrivening" to convert to a project, you can copy/paste without Dropbox: - Select All text in file > copy - create New Project, which (if memory serves) creates a draft folder with a blank Untitled document - paste into Untitled document (or add new item & paste into t...

Ideas for organizing iOS snapshot-style duplicates/drafts?

For those who use duplicate to another Binder folder or any other jerry-rigged snapshot replacement, how do you organize your duplicates/drafts? How do you handle, for example, storing drafts of a chapter vs drafts of a scene that could change chapters? How would you go about rollback/restore if it ...

Re: Apple Watch- Scratch Pad App

I was able to use workflow to add urls to Fire task, I wonder if a similar Workflow might be possible between with Drafts and that folder? I don't have the app, so I can't check.

Guide for Offline "sync"

The Dropbox knowledge base article seems comprehensive and helpful, but there's no equivalent for users who want to avoid third-party servers. The tutorial offers instructions for import export only, and is very basic at that. The forum has scattered answers to questions for working with a project o...

Re: Opening projects from device

This might not be what you're looking for but you can use iTunes for syncing, as well. You can use iTunes for copying projects, not syncing changes. Sync does require one to use dropbox, right? The above sort of forum comment seems to have sadly misled me what to expect from Scrivener iOS and iTune...
