An alternative might be to have a list of Favourites that are always accessible via a menu or list on the startup screen, and maybe the ability to designate some of those to open whenever you open SCR. I use one project often, to stockpile notes and clippings à la DTPro, and it would be nice to hav...

OK I can't go as far back as HB pencils but SCRIVENER has certainly changed the way I work more than any other product since VISICALC.

Congratulations Keith on a well-deserved award and long-overdue recognition for this great product.

Beautiful, Keith. As always, this update exceeds all expectations for both features and stability. I hope you are continuing to expand your user base.

KEITH...Apologies for the hasty and sketchy crash report. It happened just as I was leaving for an appointment and thought it worth at least sending the crash report. As you suggest this problem seems to be project-specific, as I can only duplicate it it one project. I would be happy to send you tha...

I am getting a consistent crash when I try to delete a newly created text file (created using Documents>New Text) but not when creating similar files by just hitting return when hilighting a file in the binder: Date/Time: 2007-06-14 08:16:49.432 -0400 OS Version: 10.4.9 (Build 8P2137) Report...

I hear you Keith, re DELL. My one experience with them has not (yet) been bad but I agree with you on boycotting companies that give you grief. My other large monitor is a BENQ 19" and I see they have a new 22" (FP222WH) that is ccomparable in price to the Dell. Most people seem to like th...

KEITH.... My preferred keyboard is the MacAlly Icekey, largely because it has the same feel (similar switches) to the MacBook keyboard, and is very easy on my aging fingers. I have used this keyboard for 3+ years, constantly (though not yet while sleeping) and it is the first keyboard I have used th...

In beta2 (and not in 1.03 as far as I can tell), deleting an item in the binder causes the next item to be highlighted but the main editor window stays on the text from the deleted item, if you know what I'm saying. This only clears when I select another item in the binder then back. Excellent new f...

My approach to this is to drop Devonthink from the list of tools, and store everything right in SCR instead. I have used SCR for dozens of projects like this (both big and small) and so far have not felt the need to go back to using DTP. My understanding is that DTP is much preferred for web links b...

I am with you on that one, brett. I moved my Devenotations over to SCR about 6 months ago and have not looked back. The proprietary nature of Devonote files always bothered me and you cannot beat the SCR interface, and the fact that you can have multiple databases where DN allows only one. For the s...

licence bug

Just downloaded and paid for 1.0 but the licence code did not work the first time I tried it. Yes, I tried all the usual tricks and double-checked everything. Then, I quit SCRIV and restarted it and the licence worked just fine that time. This is not a big issue but it might be worth alerting others...

And I encourage others to do the s...

An aptote is a noun that has no declensions, that is it's undeclinable. 'Aptotic noun' is redundant. Aptote comes from the Latin 'aptotum'.

I didn't know any of this, of course, but it took only a quick web search to figure it out. I'd be shocked if it wasn't in the OED. :?
