Re: Some writing/notes apps for the iPad

Scrivener on iPad? Amaru: Did you mean NoteBook by Circus Ponies? I've heard it's excellent, but it was a little pricey for me. Yes, I was talking about Notebooks. It is the most flexible solution, as it allows you to work on different projects, each one synchronized to corresponding projects in Sc...

Re: Some writing/notes apps for the iPad

Serves me well for being away from the board for so long. This is fantastic! Thank you Keith, and thank you Jen Yates. I can't wait to finally see Scrivener on the iPad.

Re: Some writing/notes apps for the iPad

Thank you for posting this. There are two apps you might want to consider too. For longhand notetaking, Wacom' Bamboo Paper, much more flexible than Penultimate. And for long haul writing, Notebooks, the most comprehensive writing environment on the iPad. It allows you to organize your projects in f...

Re: Lion upgrade good idea?

If you are just learning OS X, and if you have bought a MacBook for Scrivener, it would make more sense to upgrade to Lion, so your learning effort lasts longer. It is a painless upgrade, and it takes only half an hour—in fact it is the easiest OS upgrade I have done. I doesn’t make sense to learn a...

Re: Inconsistent paragraph indent in PDF

Keith,

That was it. Thank you very much. I have been using Scrivener since its beta days, but every day I learn a new feature.
All the best,

José

Inconsistent paragraph indent in PDF

I use indentation for every paragraph, except the first one. I have defined this as presets in Scrivener. The text looks as expected in Scrivener—the first paragraph without indent, and the subsequent paragraphs indented. But when I compile the project to PDF, the second paragraph loses its indentat...

Re: Markdown Video Tutorial

[*] Bold and Italics: You can handle bold and italics with Scrivener’s ` Format/Convert/Bold and Italics to MultiMarkdown ` menu command.[/list Ioa, as usually a very comprehensive reply. Thank you very, very much. I have been using MMD for a few weeks now, and have decided to use the underline for...

Re: Markdown Video Tutorial

Thank you for the the link. Seeing the advantages of MMD, I am considering now moving a whole project to that format. Is there any way to convert simple (no formulas, images or tables) RTF files into MMD?

Re: Urgent Keyboard Recommendations Solicited!

Since keyboards are up for discussion, and I am in the process of buying a new keyboard, I hope someone is able to comment on experiences with the Realforce 86UB Tenkeyless (Gray/Black) sold at EliteKeyboards . Or any other topre-based keyboard. http://www.elitekeyboards.com/proddata/images/th/se05c...

Re: Mac TaskPaper on Sale for $4.95

The two scripts I found useful are: Due Date, which scans tasks and marks them @today @overdue @upcoming depending on the date of @due; and Send to Taskpaper, which sends a summary of the selected email to Taskapaper, including a link to the original message.

Re: bibliography manager for ipad

I have Sente, both on my Mac and my iPad. Setting up synchronization requires a few steps, but once it is done, it works smoothly. I used to use Bookend, but the clunky interface and the steep upgrade path pushed me to Sente.

Re: iA Writer for iPad

The workflow will work with PlainText, as far as I know. And, in theory, it could work with iA Writer. The problem with iA Writer is that it doesn't support folders, and that makes it challenging to work with more than one project. I like iA Writer's interface, nevertheless, I would strongly advice ...
