Re: Scriv 3, the Forum and the new 'Flatter' look

I'm not liking the new look & I really wish I hadn't upgraded. The thing I miss the most, though, is the use of label colours in the binder. I know it reflects a similar change in Mac OS from a few versions ago (dots of colour instead of wide swipes of colour) - but I don't like it in the OS, e...

Re: Autocorrect dashes

Okay, I'm getting this, too. It's so annoying I'd like to roll back version 3.0 to my old, reliable 2.whatever. I've tried turning off the smart quotes options everyplace, shutting down Scrivener, re-starting my Mac (OS Sierra 10.12.6). Anybody come up with any new ideas on the whole smart quotes ni...

Re: Missing Menu Bar

Hi guys,

Okay, actually it had something to do with Spaces (I hate Spaces). When I turned off all the Spaces/Desktop-related options in Mission Control, my menus re-appeared AND I can get to the Preferences.

I hate Spaces.

Missing Menu Bar

Hi! So, I know this is a setting someplace that I've turned on - but I can't find WHERE I turned the sucker on & now it's driving me crazy. My menu bar has disappeared. If I go into Full Screen Mode, I can access the menu bar by rolling my mouse to the top edge of the screen - but as soon as I m...

Saving multi-project 'workspaces'?

Hi! I'm wondering if it's possible to save multiple open projects as a 'workspace' or similar? This is slightly different to the ability to close Scrivener with multiple open projects which, when Scrivener is opened again, will automatically open. I'm working on several different stories, & so I...

Project Statistics control

Howdy! I wish I could control the Project Statistics separately to the Compile Draft controls. I've recently learned that Project Statistics counts whatever I include in my Compile Draft window options. Once I realised this & set the Draft to compile ONLY the text & not the notes, I lost 20,...

Word Count counts...?

Apologies if the answer's elsewhere (I've been looking): my wordcount on a 5,000 word essay seems to be 3,000 words MORE than it should be. That is, project statistics tells me it's 8,000 words, but when I add up the sections manually (or export it to Word), I get 5,000. Is Project Statistics also c...

Re: Text document icon

Oh, cool! What a nifty feature. Might use that all the time now. ;p

Thank-you, thank-you.

Text document icon

This is such a dumb question -- & I apologise in advance, but I just can't find the answer! In my Binder, one of my Text documents has its top right corner folded. In every way I can find, it's identical to its neighbours: title, synopsis, label, status, all the same. In Outliner, the Type colum...

More word counts, more often

I'd love to have the option to see the word count as I'm typing in Full Screen mode. Similarly, I'd love to be able to see the word count for a folder in the Outliner or Cork Board (where it says '3 items' or similar, perhaps). Right now I flip to Outliner to view a folder/sequence & add the num...

Copy Scrivener text files to other Scrivener projects

Howdy, I keep a Scrivener file called 'Ideas', which is a miscellany of articles & thoughts, some of which I later work up into stories. I'd love to be able to save out one or more of my Ideas text files into a new Scrivener project -- much in the way MS Excel can save tabs into new Excel docume...
