OmniOutliner —> Scrivener

Hello, This has been asked a million times, but I cannot find the answer: What is the best way to get an OmniOutlier outline into Scrivener? I am using MarginNote https://marginnote.com on my iPad to take extensive notes on long texts in PDF format for importing into Scrivener for writing later. Wha...

Search for colored comments and footnotes?

I am sure this has been answered, but I can't find it in the Manual, and it's not in the Forums. So, how can I search for colored comments and footnotes? For every comment I make on my text, I give a color code : PURPLE means to check or insert a citation, RED: get more evidence, ORANGE: insert imag...

Re: Footnotes not formatting through Endnote

There seems to be some issues in formatting citations in footnotes in MS Word. Papers2--if I am not mistaken--cannot do it http://support.mekentosj.com/discussions/problems/3067-citations-in-footnotes ...I think that other citation managers have problems with MS Word's docx format, but I might be mi...

Re: Citations & Endnote

As the above post says, in other citation managers, you might add an * before Skinner (Papers2) or a % (Sente). But the key is in using a DIFFERENT citation manager...I almost feel bad for EndNote being so overpriced, underwhelming, under-equipped, and trapped in the 1990s....There are even free cit...

Sync external folder; how to set up?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could explain briefly how to set up a sync with an external folder, in the following case: 1. To sync ONLY CERTAIN FOLDERS in my Draft folder 2. so that I can work on pieces of my draft ON MY IPAD with an RTF editor (any ideas?), and 3. have them SYNC BACK to Scriven...

MindNode Pro exports accented characters Scrivener can impor

Just an FYI: I use MindNode Pro and it exports French accented characters to OPML that Scrivener imports correctly. Good luck, Rich

changing color of comments' background and in-text highlight

I can't seem to find how to change the default yellow color of the comments background neither in the editor nor in the side bar where the comments are kept. Is this possible? (I'm sure I'll figure it out before someone responds!) UPDATE: I knew i'd find it. You have to ctrl-click on the comments to...

Re: Keyword "tagging" of text passages

Thank you Keith for considering this option in a future version of Scrivener. Honestly, if I could recreate the scenario I want--"tagging" a text passage, giving it a term, and then compiling the terms later in a search--then I would leave you alone, promise :) So AmberV's suggestion seems...

Re: Keyword "tagging" of text passages

Those are all good solutions. What bugs me is that instead of searching for text in comments or footnotes in the search field, you have to go to Edit | Find... | Find by Formatting, which I feel is a bit awkward and counter-intuitive (I am SEARCHING for text, not looking for it by how it has been FO...

Keyword "tagging" of text passages

I would like to ask for this feature in a future version of Scrivener: Highlight a passage of text (in a text document, not necessarily in a PDF document, though that would be nice too), add a Keyword to it. I have brought it up before here: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&...

Re: keywords and tagging text

Ok, that works, just tried it. But how might I save this kind of search?

But I still think adding keywords to text passages would be amazing. Amazing.

Re: Linking text within two separate docs

As far as I know, you cannot link text from within one document to text within another document. It seems as though you can only link a document OR text within a document to another document.

keywords and tagging text

Will I ever be able to highlight text in a document and assign a keyword to it? I would find this useful when I refer to another chapter. Let's say I am writing a bunch of chapters and there is one chapter that deals with a particular subject, let's say apple picking. Within the whole body of the b...
