Re: How to compile a Scrivener document to Latex?

I don't know, I think it should be possible, but perhaps I don't understand what you are looking to accomplish, as I am not sure how to think of Scrivener as anything other than an outliner.

Re: Shortcut to move paragraph up or down ?

I'd agree that the design of Scrivener is not built around paragraph sized chunks. It can certainly handle that level of detail where it makes sense to (and in fact we recently made some adjustments to the compiler that would allow for sentence-level chunking, though that would surely have only nich...

Re: Main website should be iOS friendly

Glad to hear it's been a good experience. :)

There is surely always something to improve, and we do have a list of things for the web devs to look into the next time we touch up the site, but by and large we're happy with both desktop and mobile designs.

Re: How to compile a Scrivener document to Latex?

Okay that explains the point of confusion better to me. Scrivener doesn't have a LaTeX distribution built into it or anything like that. You're goal is going to be compiling a .tex file and then typesetting that using an editor. Now in a more advanced sense, you *can* automate by having Scrivener ta...

Re: Main website should be iOS friendly

I'm not sure what is meant by there not being a mobile theme in the first place. It definitely does, though since it is width based, it may be your iPad has enough space to show the normal site.

Re: How to compile a Scrivener document to Latex?

What you have in your screenshot here is precisely right. It is that simple, and this should work fine, I don’t know why it is not. Could you describe how you are compiling? Are you perhaps using a Format that is inserting a lot of extra stuff (most designed for rich text users, mind)? If I leave th...

It has already been 200 days, hasn’t it! I haven’t forgotten nor lost interest in it, but it did get a bit waylaid by this or that. Thanks for the prompt though, it’s easier to get back to something when you know others haven’t forgotten. :)

Re: Sometimes Wider Space After Period?

I think even without the extra information provided, it is still a regular space. It doesn’t display the code without the Unicode table in use, but it really shouldn’t be conflating the names of different characters. If it is a different kind of space, it would say so instead of “SPACE”. Maybe it’s ...

Re: Project-level custom metadata

I would say that this is what the Project Replacement compile tab is for. If you open up Compile and click on the replacements tab (the “ab↳ac” icon), you can type your variable into the Replace column and the value into the With column. For example, replace “<$quarter>” with “Q3”. When you’re done,...

Re: Missing page break between Part and Chapter

What’s odd here is that you shouldn’t need anything special to get a page break after a part page. You don’t have to try to find a way to insert a second break after it, because the chapter break itself should do that. It would take additional customisation in fact to arrive at a scenario where the ...

And after doing the above, set aside that project with a name like "Script Starter", and from now one duplicate it to create a new project from it when needed.

That's all templates do, really. :)

Re: Snapshot questions?

Snapshots are named copies of your text that have been set aside and cannot be edited. You cannot work “on a version”, as that would defeat the purpose of having an immutable snapshot set aside. There is only one editable copy of your text, and that is what you see in the main text editor. As for co...

Re: Sometimes Wider Space After Period?

I’d double-check to make sure it’s a normal space. Unicode has a bunch of different space widths: ⋅  Select the character with Shift-LeftArrow from the “S”, and copy it. ⋅  Use the Edit ▸ Emoji & Symbols... menu command. ⋅  If necessary, click the icon in the upper ...
