Re: [Suggestion] [2.9.10] UI Improvements

Indeed, the icons throughout the software are all hand-drawn, pixel by pixel, to the size you see them at. Resizing them would mean very blurry icons. Having a feature that blew up icons to logo sized graphics would mean commissioning the entire payload of graphics to be done all over again, and at ...

Re: iOS 13

The main problem I've heard of is for those that rely upon auto-correction and auto-capitalisation to handle typing and spelling tasks for them. If you have those things turned off, you should be okay, but if you use them, then you may get some weird capitalisation around apostrophes, like don'T and...

Re: Beta 21: Document Conversions don't operate on contents of folders

Yeah, this command is fairly essential when the project is moving between platforms and different machines. The project level formatting override can help keep things consistent between users on the same platform—maybe even Mac/PC in some cases—but iOS is another universe. Going into the description...

Re: The documents in the new tutorial can NOT be converted to the default text formatting.

You might want to flip to the “Default Formatting” section, in the tutorial. It covers what default formatting means, what the conversion menu command is meant to cover, how this project setting works—and lastly that the tutorial itself is set to use that option. :) It’s the same exact logic used fo...

Re: Beta 21: Document Conversions don't operate on contents of folders

This is how it has always worked, since version 1.0 for the Mac! I don’t think it would be a wise idea to suddenly change that right now, and seeing as how you’re maybe (if not, it’s so rare I’ve forgotten) the first person to bring it up in thirteen years or whatever—I don’t think most people want ...

Re: The documents in the new tutorial can NOT be converted to the default text formatting.

Have you turned off the tutorial project's formatting, in Project Settings, or am I misunderstanding that this is where you are making the change and it isn't working?

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

Yeah maybe that’s the point of confusion. I’m coming at this from the assumption that this is known. If we don’t add an empty line between paragraphs then it is not useful Markdown, it will be one 800 word paragraph or whatever. What was broken is that it was adding lines on top of empty lines. So i...

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

I don’t know if I’d classify it as a bug—it was working precisely as it was programmed to work. As I say though (and did in the previously linked thread), that is not how it is intended to work, in a design sense—whether you call it "excessive line padding" or "extra spacing", it...

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

To clarify, the intention for this copy command is to serve how you wish to use it. It does convert more than just bold and italics, but unless you actually use Markdown to write, how it works shouldn't get in your way (and should generally be desirable, like having lists and links converted). The e...

Re: Don't Want to Have to Close Scrivener Frequently

I don’t fully agree with the running theme that one should necessarily close their project frequently—I don’t do that myself, though I have tuned my backup settings and practices to accommdate that way of working. I think there is a difference between recommending good practices to those that don’t ...

Re: [LH3563] Document links and bookmarks do NOT create a back-link bookmark

Okay, yes, that’s the fifth case I marked above, one of the ones that isn’t working. The link is fully marked, the problem is that spell chark marking takes precedence over other dynamic drawing, the way I see it. Also, if I drag one item into another’s bookmark list, from one project to another, it...

Re: Document links and bookmarks do NOT create a back-link bookmark

It looks like some things are working but not others: ⋅  Dragging one item into another’s bookmark list: good . ⋅  Creating a new linked document via Ctrl+G,D : good . ⋅  Using the ... button to manually create a bookmark to another item: good . ⋅  Dragging a ...

Re: RC1 - LaTeX template - Export of plain TXT file.

⋅  It was an effort to export some LaTeX that would work and to note that the MMD export was able to change the extension. Ah, okay, I misread. Yeah MMD→TeX has the extension hardcoded in to that selection, kind of like if you choose RTF it has the .rtf extension hardcoded. All of the fil...

Re: RC1 - LaTeX template - Export of plain TXT file.

Thanks for the summary: ⋅  Known bug, I have this one filed. You can select UTF-8 but you have to do so as a global default from the Sharing: Export settings tab, not the ask-every-time thing. For some reason UTF-8 isn’t in that list, though it should be at the very top as a convenience ch...
