Re: iPad 2018 or iPad Pro 10.5" ?

Thanks very much for that. Really well considered responses and very helpful! The thing I forgot to mention was that I spend 90% of my time in front of an iMac at my desk. The idea is to have something portable and handy when I have to travel for meetings. There might be some writing but mainly note...

iPad 2018 or iPad Pro 10.5" ?

Hi Everyone I'm a very long time Scrivener user (and lover) but about to sail into unfamiliar waters: Scrivener for iOS and the iPad. I've been looking at the 10.5" iPad Pro - but do I really need that much grunt? Will the ordinary iPad, now that it supports Apple Pencil, do the job? I'd love t...

Re: Lost Words

Amen to that brother. I am also now on a 25 regime, and triggering a manual TM backup after closing Scrivener at the end of the day. I'm sleeping nights again!

Apple Script for Shut Down Routine

After my recent experience with my backup routine not being as solid as I thought it was - hadn't been using Time Machine properly so had incomplete backups - it occurs to me that someone who knew how to write apple script might be able to write a script for a shut down routine which closes Scriv an...

Re: Lost Words

I'm going to put it down to Alien visitation. It's the only logical explanation.

Re: Lost Words

Thanks Amber - I'll keep searching, but... have you ever heard of anyone rolling back by mistake without knowing it? Is this a first??

Re: Lost Words

Okay further investigation suggests I have inadvertently rolled back to a snapshot of 7 Nov. The TM gap is explained by my failure to close and do manual backups. Not sure what's happened with Dropbox. Is there anyway I can un-roll back? Guess not. Damn. But how could I roll back by mistake without ...

Re: Lost Words

Oh one more thing, I upgraded to 2.2 recently. Can't remember the date and I can't see how this could have any connection but just mentioning it.

Lost Words

Hi Well I find myself in the situation I never wanted to be in - I opened my work today and found that the last couple of weeks' work just seems to have disappeared - I'm looking at an earlier version of the draft, approx 2 weeks old. I thought I was doing everything right: Scrivener autosaves are p...

Re: Import Menu Didn't Close

Right you are. No hurry from this end - it's not stopping me from doing anything I need to do and whatever it is seems to be very rare. Only two users?

cheers

Re: Import Menu Didn't Close

Okay I did that (didn't like my performance much, thought I was rather wooden with my mousing) - tried to upload it to the forum but the extension .mov isn't allowed so I'm emailing it to sales AT etc attn Keith. Let me know if it doesn't work - it said the file was only 1 KB which can't be right. c...

Re: Import Menu Didn't Close

I do indeed use spaces - but I turned Spaces off, restarted the computer, and still had the problem.

Re: Import Menu Didn't Close

I can do it with PDF FDX and Pages files. I just made a new pages document and a new PDF and put them in a new folder and reproduced it. It seems to be 100% reliable for me. I had another look at the console and got some new messages, some from yesterday afternoon and from just now this morning. May...

Re: Import Menu Didn't Close

Well it doesn't seem to be connected to any one file - but if I try to import a folder which contains media files into the draft, it reliably happens. As far as I can figure out. I found many instances of the following message in the console from the 26th, which was the day I posted my follow up to ...

Re: Import Menu Didn't Close

Hi Keith I'm on 10.6.5 I've been trying to narrow it down by taking the suspect group of files and importing them one at a time into test projects but I haven't been able to reproduce it that way yet. But with the group of files taken in their entirety, it seems to be reliably reproducable. I'll kee...
