Re: Congratulations Team L&L!

I'm sorry, but for me this is a case of too little, too late and for too high a price. Scrivener 3 is showing as costing 47 GBP in the store and even with 49% off that is too much to pay for an upgrade from 1.9 What weird dimension did you just appear from with your single post? A huge upgrade from...

Re: iCloud Sync

iCloud has multiple sync indicators: drive, folders, and files. Steps to use (A) macOS and iOS markdown editors for writing, (B) iCloud for syncing, and (C) Scrivener for structuring, text tidying, and compiling. 1. Create a project in Mac Scrivener 2. In Mac Scrivener, set up external folder sync,...

Re: Purchase options?

Reading the update policy for Scrivener for IOS it states that discount pricing is offered to people who buy direct, but not for those buying from the Apple App Store. But going to the shop on this site, the only option is to buy through the Apple App Store. Am I missing something? Or has the polic...

Re: Scrivener 3 Creating Multiple Backups

I recently moved to the new version and now every time I look at the Scrivener files in my file explorer there are dozens of backups! I love the backup system but instead of overwriting as it used to (right?) it creates a new one, backup1, backup2 - 5 for my current file. How can I stop this. That ...

Re: Scivener Unusable?

*Note this device is what is sometimes referred to as an "unsupported" device. The device is still compatible with Catalina, so this is not a factor, anything that runs on Catalina normally will run on this device so long as you have the storage and horsepower.* Yes, it is an unsupported ...

Re: Is working over Google Drive, cloud storage, still discouraged?

The recommendation is: zip the project, upload to cloud, download the project, unzip, edit, re-zip and re-upload. I do not trust any cloud to maintain an un-zipped scrivener project. Any file that becomes corrupted, can nuke the whole project. Not going there. I maintain multiple copies of files: S...

Re: Virus issue during Scrivener 3.0 first start.

Give AVG the boot. I’ve seen too many false positives and other issues with that program, not just with Scrivener. Kill AVG to complete the install/uninstall. Several AVs false report an issue with Scrivener V3. Windows Defender is better than nothing if you are on a fully updated Win 10. Norton (no...

Congratulations Team L&L!

Hearty congratulations to all the L&L team on the release of V3 for Windows. Especially Lee and Tiho the developers, KB for the vision and everyone at L&L for putting up with all the 'are we there yet' for the past 3 years. You've taken some shit along the way but kept at it. Again congratul...

Re: Why So Long to Finish v. 3?

If there's a consensus here that the beta's "prime time" enough for all that, then I will seriously consider upgrading to it. I hope, though, that everyone here understands that whether the beta can be relied on as stable actually matters . I and many others have been using the beta for o...

Re: Confused - Is There A Beta Version of Scrivener Windows 3?

This is not difficult to understand, and I think it is pointless to try to defend or justify a sloppy and confusing and misleading naming convention. I have used the beta versions of several pieces of software over the years and all of them have made the name of the beta file consonant with the tit...

Almost forgot, if you’d looked a couple of lines down in the Wish List board you’d have seen this already asked and answered - Ask Dragon to make their app compatible with Scrivener.

Specifics please. Bit difficult for them to ‘improve’ if they don’t know what’s wrong with it. I find compile just fine, so I’m in the ‘don’t touch it’ crowd.

Re: Collaboration

Most word processors and every new writing app has embraced a cloud-first strategy. Not Scrivener. While taking FOUR years (so far) to deliver the next version of the Windows desktop app, I fear they've also misjudged the long-term design requirements of the market. Perhaps they still have a corner...
