Hey everyone, I searched for this and couldn't find it on the forums but I find it hard to imagine that it hasn't been suggested before. Have you guys ever thought of selling merchandise? T-Shirts and coffee mugs /office supplies? I just started using Scrivener a few months ago and really enjoy it. ...
I also avoid buying from the App store, I like to give all the money to the developer so they have decent income and can make a better product. As a developer myself, I do the same thing. I bought my mac versions of Scrivener and Scapple through the website rather than the app store for this reason...
If you are talking about generic pentesting, a distro of Linux like Kali Linux would be your best bet. However if you're talking specifically about hunting for Scrivener bugs, Windows or Mac are equally appropriate for their respective versions. Not sure why Mac would be better than Windows for this...
There is no rush on this at all of course but I was wondering when the results would be finished and shared. I have been really excited to see any outcomes from this
Are you participating in the relevant beta forum discussions about this? There are a few workarounds that have been discussed that might remove this issue for you until such time as they can get Qt to deal with the underlying bug. I wasn't aware there were any - I honestly hadn't looked into it. I ...
What I am unclear of is how the rate of update is too frequent for Scrivener beta but not for every other MS, Apple and Linux product. Especially the core OS that is the foundation for all software. If MS/Apple/Linux can't release less frequently, and no one is complaining to them, then I don't see...
"I would respectfully suggest that these people are likely to be disappointed. Almost all software worth having gets regular updates, and my guess is that people who get the (free or paid)version 3 when it is finally released will have to install version 3.01 within a couple of months, and the...
As a full time software engineer who also does contract work on the side, I completely understand how it is to be on the receiving end of angry comments. Honestly they do not bother me anymore and i'm sure the developers here probably have pretty thick skin at this point too. Has anyone here ever ha...
Thanks for taking the time to make a detailed response and I very much look forward to your blog post! It is awesome to see the lead developer engage with the community as much as you do. Good luck on going through all those responses
Now that the great big scrivener survey is complete and the results were gathered a bit ago, will the results be shared with us? I think that I remember reading in some thread that Keith was open to the possibility. Obviously this is a decision for L&L but I figured i'd ask
I, for one, think that Keith has to be an excellent programmer to have built such a complex software with so few bugs. Yes, every software has bugs, but for how complex this one is, the number is strikingly low. To claim someone who has built something like Scrivener is "incompetent" or t...
V3 beta is really stable and even v1 for windows is so much better than anything else out there. I would say if you want to leave, good luck finding anything comparable - i'm sure you'll be back soon. SmartEdit writer is quite comparable and it is free. It does not have the same toxic user-base. Th...

While this is obviously up to each individual person, I personally find macOS to have a much more pleasant user interface. One thing you said that sticks out to me is that you don't want to feel like you're looking at a computer; either operating system is able to enter full screen mode when using a...
