The link to the test build posted here worked and solved my problem. Support had also sent the link, but somehow it had gotten corrupted and wouldn't open. Perhaps you can't imagine the relieve when I tried the one from Forum and worked! Glad to be part of the Scrivener community.
Also, now the project I am working on is completely inaccessible. Someone mentioned extracting work from Scrivener. How? And then could I open it in Word or something else?

Thanks to both of you. I have put temporary citations in from Endnote. I tried compiling into Word and they were picked up in the proper way. Although I am now building my citations/references in Bookends now, I can continue to add those I will actually cite also to Endnote.
