Scrivener 3 will not accept a Scrivener 1 license. There might be a bug -- it should fail gracefully -- but that's the fundamental issue. Upgrade information is here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/upgr ... or-windows
This same thing has been happening to me in Scrivener 3.0. Did you find any solution? Please start a new thread. This one pertains to a 2-year old beta version, not the current release. Questions about Windows Scrivener 3.0 can be posted here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewforum.php?...
I'll bear that in mind, though I've been living dangerously (and glitch free) for the past 18 months. I have backups anyway. Out of interest, if Scrivener's file handling system is susceptible to file delay, what happens under high system load? I often use my machine for video transcoding. High sys...
I use OneDrive and experimented with this a while back. What I did was to "Free Up Space" (removing files, leaving meta-data) for a project folder, then reopened it in Scrivener. OneDrive downloaded the files as required, loaded without issue. As long as there is an Internet connection, i...

If you haven't already, I'd recommend taking a look at our Interactive Tutorial, available from the Help menu. It's a good overview of how Scrivener works and what it can do.
This thread has jumped all over the place, so I'd like to bring it back to reality by describing the scenario I commonly see. * User stores projects "in Dropbox," (or iCloud, or OneDrive) but has no Time Machine volume or third-party backup service. Probably the user depends on a free-leve...
There IS no static copy of a project when the project is open. Where did you lose the thread? Backblaze is set for continuous backup at my machine, and I don't see another option (though it may exist). Sure there is. By default, Scrivener would have made a backup the last time the project was close...
I found an answer to those questions. Backblaze treats a package the same as any other folder, so I would not trust it with open projects. https://help.backblaze.com/hc/en-us/articles/217665608-How-Does-Backblaze-Deal-With-Mac-OS-X-Packages- What does "trust" mean in this case? The whole ...
Maybe this would be a better question for BackBlaze support? Katherine Do you think Backblaze knows what their continuous backup does to an open Scrivener project? If we're talking about a scheduled backup, that's a different story, but Backblaze defaulted to continuous backup, and I don't see a wa...
