Re: Doesn't save, backup OR sync

No. I did not reinstall Scrivener... that’s the one thing I forgot to do. If I get it to work what happens if I turn all my safety stuff back on? I’m really not keen on using Windows without at least an anti-virus. Thanks! I’ll reinstall when I get home from work. Your antivirus tools should allow ...

Re: Compiled view in Editor

You probably want Scrivenings view. (View -> Scrivenings) Unfortunately this view is not available on the iPad.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend taking a look at our Interactive Tutorial, available from the Help menu. It's a good overview of fundamental operations like this.

Re: How can i have page numbers before i compile?

That also makes very little sense, AmberV. At no time whatsoever do I even come close to suggesting that everyone is like me. Also, the idea that the Scrivener developers are only targeting a specific demographic that doesn't include me is utterly ridiculous. How could such a business model be sust...

Oh, *that's* what you're talking about?

Just turn on Page View. View -> Text Editing -> Show Page View.

Re: How can i have page numbers before i compile?

I've been using scrivener since the first windows version came out. I don't use it exclusively, however, because about 80% of everything I do can't be done on Scrivener, at least effectively and quickly. I mostly work with WordPerfect because of the strength of it s macros and control over formatti...

Re: How can i have page numbers before i compile?

By professionals I meant people who lay out content for clients who intend to publish them in specific formats rather than the professional who is pumping out their next novel and probably doesn't have to cater to the whims of a boss. I knew what you meant. As I said, many Scrivener users and sever...

Scrivener 3 has a different, and more complex, project structure. So the object that the cloud provider is being asked to transfer is different.

Re: How can i have page numbers before i compile?

The File -> Print Current Document command is probably what you're looking for. See Chapter 26 in the manual for details of how it works and the available options. FYI, a significant number of Scrivener users, including several members of the support team, are in fact professionals. You'll probably ...

You may have identified a bug. Please strip this down to the smallest test project that demonstrates the behavior, and open a support ticket, here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/contact-us You can email a project by using the File -> Backup -> Backup To command, and checking the box to create a...

Re: Doesn't save, backup OR sync

The trial is fully functional. Unable to save anywhere by any method very much sounds like something else on your system thinks Scrivener is bad. You disabled your antivirus software, but did you reinstall Scrivener after doing so? For Dropbox specifically, is the Dropbox software installed and runn...

Re: Please re-ignite Scrivener for Linux

I know this is an old thread, but please bring back Scrivener for Linux. It's the operating system a lot of people prefer to use. I don't understand why you have it for every other operating system but Linux!! Lots of people like to *use* Linux, but it's much more difficult to get people to *pay fo...

Re: Paragraph breaking to second page despite plenty of room on the first page

How are you identifying the page break? Page View in Scrivener? Printing the document? Compiling the document?

Re: Is it possible to prevent a page break after front matter?

Page breaks come *before* documents, not *after* them.

That is, you should look at the Section Layout for the first document after the Front Matter to see where the page break is coming from.
