Re: For those that use the scrivener 3 beta

"with a list of knows bugs" Errr, say again? :D Why not fix the known bugs before releasing a version that should be stable and bug-free? There's no such thing as bug-free software. FWIW, other users have been taking the exact opposite position for months, literally begging (or demanding)...

Re: For those that use the scrivener 3 beta

To be precise: The new official release will be most likely out within a month with a list of known bugs. You can use the latest Beta till then. The key words in that statement are "most likely" and "within a month." Most likely = we don't expect showstopper bugs, but this is not...

Re: Problems syncing projects on iOS/iPhone

Scrivener 2 with Mac OS Mojave is not a supported configuration.

While that's probably not the direct cause of your current issue, the Scrivener 3 project format is significantly more robust against synchronization errors. I would recommend upgrading at your earliest convenience.

Re: Where do I find the RTF data files in the beta?

The individual RTF files can be found inside the numbered folders. Each Binder item is assigned a folder with a unique ID. All of the files associated with that item will be in that folder: the text, but also footnotes, comments, and so on. If the folder is empty, that means that it's assigned to a ...

Re: Scrivener <-> Google Docs w/notes; Language/Correction settings MacOS

The best way to determine whether Scrivener will meet your needs is to make use of our extended free trial. Scrivener uses the built-in Mac OS spelling and correction tools, so you can write in any language that your Mac supports. Scrivener cannot import the Google Docs format directly, but it can i...

Then you probably should not be using beta software. By definition, it is more likely to require unexpected investments of time.

Re: Setting the format for NO STYLE formatted text

Thanks for the guidance. The Preferences>Editing window does NOT provide the opportunity to select the font. It does on my system, I just checked. What happens if you click the 'Aa' icon at the left end of the formatting bar? On my system, it brings up the standard Mac OS fonts pane. (Note, however...

Also, make sure that you have adequate free space in your Dropbox account. None of the cloud services handle "disk full" conditions well.

Re: When does a Scrivener project get too big?

Scrivener is designed so that it only loads the files you're actually viewing. This allows it to handle fairly large projects -- gigabyte-scale -- fairly smoothly. Backup operations require Scrivener to make a copy of the entire project, so these are generally the first to show the effects of projec...

Re: Old installer

Note that configurations not supported by Apple are also not supported by us.

That is, if you jailbreak your device in order to install an older version of iOS, Scrivener may work, it may not, but if it doesn't you're on your own.

Re: Planning for Apocalypse

Note that the activation system no longer causes the program to stop working if activation fails, but only if the serial number comes back as void (purchase returns and piracy blacklists, for example). Nonetheless, it is still possible to recover your work with no access to Scrivener at all. The &qu...
