Re: Screenplay as epub CSS glitch

It was the 'fifth element' thing. Didn't realise it had to match in strict order like. But yes, sorted now, thanks.

Screenplay as epub CSS glitch

I've discovered a glitch in compiling a screenplay to epub. Scriv seems to think 'dialogue' elements are 'transitions', and formats them as all caps, right justified. I edited the CSS by cutting and pasting the 'dialogue' definition parameters into the 'transition' definition, and all was well. Howe...

Re: Exporting in screenplay format.

Javier I definitely find I need to export into a purpose built screenplay application (I use MMS) to get the formatting right, and that's what was intended - Scrivener's about structuring and creating rather than formatting. I don't find More's and Conts too much of a problem - it's more about catch...

Re: Formatting

John 1. Changing the formatting in documents in the binder is done just as you'd format text in TextEdit - Scrivener uses the OS X system text engine. Select the text, then everything's in the Format menu, including showing the formatting toolbar (which is also Cmd-Ctrl-R). Also, the size text shows...

Re: Conditional compiling

It would help with that bit, true. What I really want to achieve though is an output where I can read the synopsis as a kind of place holder for the bits I haven't written yet, and (the nub of it I guess) being able to do this conveniently in Compile would be great. I was imagining that something li...

Re: Conditional compiling

Thanks for your reply Amber. I guess that makes it a bona fide feature request then.

I'm not sure the 'find 0' words would work for me either - my documents are screenplay format - does the wordcount work for that?

Conditional compiling

I'd like to be able to specify in a compile 'if the main document is empty, use the synopsis instead'.

Or can I already?

It's like there's some kind of hyper intelligent uber-being behind Scrivener....

:)

Thanks.

Text wrapping behaviour

Would it be possible, at some point in the future, to have text wrapping behave like this: - if a fixed width was set, that worked while the editor window was bigger than that width. - when the editor window is narrower than the fixed width, text wraps to window Because at the moment, I either have ...

Re: General workflow (for newbie)

Just noticed this in your first post: Ok, I can select a "group mode" where I see all the contents of my selected group - but in that case there are no subheadings, if I use the approach where the headings are written only in the binder. Would View>Editor>Show Titles in Scrivenings do the ...

Re: moving text from docs to synopsis

To be honest, I don't tend to use the synopses in cards, just in Outline view.

Re: The Ultimate Documentary Paper Edit App

A view mode like email, where clicking on outline view in left panel opens that document in right panel

In outline view, at the bottom of the window, there's a button with two arrows on it, facing opposite ways. This turns that exact function on and off. Took me a while to find it, too.

Re: General workflow (for newbie)

it is not completely true what it says on the Scrivener product page: "Break your text into pieces as small or large as you want".

Well, since you can have a document consisting of one letter, that'd cover it, don't you think?

Fair enough. Just a thought, as I said.
