Re: Auto-update paragraph; Edit one place, Update everywhere else

Section "10.1.5 Including Text From Other Documents" of the manual is a useful read in relation to this.

Hi.

In TextEdit, this is working okay in public-beta 9. Not working in Scrivener. Expect you already know this, but posting in case you don't. (Know it is a beta... not complaining.)

Best.

Re: Repeating "file does not exist" error after Mojave/High Sierra security patch?

The Mojave patch was pulled and then replaced / updated yesterday. Perhaps the cause and solution to the current issue you are facing?

Re: Fall of Western Civilization, Was Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

All face coverings get moist from inhalation and exhalation, and as people breathe in, they attract and concentrate whatever is in the air around them. The coverings get dirty and become havens for germs, which will live longer on fabrics than they do in the air. People touch face coverings that hav...

Re: Mac Big Sur & Scrivener

Hello, Dieter. Good to hear you have had some success. This page might help / you might not even need to locate your licence info (although Big Sur's bugs might make things more difficult): The direct-sale versions of our software have been designed to look for Apple's proof of purchase certificates...

Re: Mac Big Sur & Scrivener

Hello. Some ideas: 1. Is Scrivener set to reopen a project on launch? If yes, try launching Scrivener while holding down the SHIFT key (which stops the project loading). 2. Are you using Scrivener from the App Store or from L&L direct? If from the App Store, try using the L&L version instead...

Re: Scrivener 3: Page headers and footers in compiled screenplays?

Hi.

Yes, it is.

Section 24.20.6 Header and Footer Text of the user manual (from Help > Scrivener Manual) explains how to do this.

Hope this helps.

Re: Disabling Smart Quotes for Code Span and Code Block

Even if smart quotes are turned on, users can still type straight quotes:

CTRL QUOTE for a single straight quote

SHIFT CTRL QUOTE for a double straight quote

Basically, just add CTRL to the keystroke to escape the smart-quote engine whenever you need to.

Helps?

Re: Big Sur is coming closer ...

Hi. Thanks for the news. Good to hear that beta 6 moves things along in terms of lists. I can't give any credence to the spacings issue being apparent in Catalina. I noticed it in Big Sur before I read the other thread, but didn't post until I saw this beta-aware discussion. In the animated gif belo...

KB wrote:- You can't create new bulleted lists in Scrivener thanks to a really silly Big Sur bug.

For anyone reading this thread, you can circumvent this particular issue by creating a new list in TextEdit (when in RTF mode) and copying & pasting into Scrivener. The list is then editable in Scrivener.

Re: Big Sur is coming closer ...

One additional thing I have noticed with Big Sur and Scrivener is that I can’t get any line spacings to hold (editor, preferences, compiler). Not a complaint. Know it’s a beta. Just logging the info here for anyone thinking about hitching a ride on Big Sur right now. Beyond that, really enjoying the...
