Re: VMWare fusion vs Parallels vs Boot Camp.

Hi xiamenese my two pennies worth - have only used VMWare and I loved it because things ran smoothly. I used it for several years, on a MBP when I wanted to run some Windows-based s/w (e.g. SPSS and Excel -yes, I know there's a Mac version but the native Windows version is superior IMO). Bootcamp wa...

Re: Use of keywords to help integrate interviews into copy within Scrivener

Hi spaceguitar, you may want to have a look at granthika (https://granthika.co/?utm_source=granthika-blog) - it allows you to tag pieces of text in a document, and to assign different tags to the same piece of text. It may not do all you want it to - I don't know as I haven't explored it in detail y...

Thanks CH - it works :-)
My husband had pointed me to timeline and it looked nifty - 50% makes it a great price.

Re: Big friendly wave from Glasgow

Hi enitharmon, wanted to say thanks for mentioning the Kilderkin - I like Canongate but haven't tried the Kilderkin. Hopefully when things are a bit more settled. Also, Jim saying he had to look 'moggie' up made me recheck my understanding of the word, and suddenly worry that I might have insulted y...

Can you export Scrivener Color Palette to new computer?

Hi, I'm slowly moving stuff to a new computer, including Scrivener. Both computers are Macs and I use/d Scrivener 3 on both. I've managed to export most of the Scrivener settings I needed from the old computer to the new (thanks folks, for your help). But, I can't seem to find a way of exporting the...

Re: What's your favourite displacement activity?

Reading - it's ALWAYS research, you see. Well, perhaps not all of it is. Ok, ok - hardly any of it is. Otherwise it's getting/staying fit so swimming...but since the local pools are closed... :(. and, I'm too much of a Mediterranean wimp to brave the cold Scottish sea. So it's back to reading. This ...

Hi enitharmon, I'm not too far from you - Edinburgh...and yes, know a little how you feel...had gotten into a routine of working in the one of the libraries here, or in Starbucks across from the castle :-) In any case, just thought I'd say welcome back to the writing world...glad to hear the moggies...

Re: Best way to move Scrivener styles to a new computer...?

My excuse is that my opticians cancelled my appt. months ago due to covid-19, and I definitely need a new prescription!

Many thanks, brookter - I see them now

Cheers!

Best way to move Scrivener styles to a new computer...?

Hi, I'm moving Scrivener 3 from one Mac to another...I've exported and imported preferences but I cannot seem to find a way to export styles I've created into my new Scrivener installation on the new computer. Would anyone know how I might do this ? I've looked at other posts and found reference to ...

Re: Convert Handwritten Text Into Digital on iPad

If it's for quick note taking with Apple Pencil on iPad, and then a fairly accurate handwriting to digital text translation, I've found Nebo a marvel. I 'grew up' on text recognition software from 25 years ago and they were pretty bad...I can't believe how good Nebo is today. There ARE other note ta...

No worries, Ray (we've all done something like that :) ), and thanks auxbuss.

Perhaps someone from the Scrivener team could respond...?

Re: Paper position in composition mode

Hi Ray, and thanks for replying. Odd...I have Scrivener 3.1.5 (12258) as well, but running on Mac OS 10.13.6. Could it have anything to do with the OS? That might be even odder though, as I have a slider for paper width, but only a handful of preset positions for paper position. In any case I can't ...

Any response to this, at all?
Is it possible, and if so, likely to be implemented?

Best all,
Michelle.

Paper position in composition mode

Hi, I did a search and it came up with a post that suggested this was done already, but it doesn't seem to quite work for me so here goes... I'm on Scrivener 3, and in composition mode the paper position feature has 5 preset positions, far left of the monitor, left-centre, centre, centre-right, far ...
