Re: Some feedback after using it for two nanowrimos and a bit of other writing.

Thanks for your feedback. You can see which documents are to be included in the Compile when you go into the Compile window, or in the Inspector. Opening/closing a project wouldn't normally change the that status for a document. You can just duplicate the Draft folder and label it 1st Draft etc if y...

Re: New Document Indentation

You just need to set your default formatting to what you want. At the moment the default has the indent, but it's easy to change. See this article: https://scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb ... my-project.

Re: Italic not preserved after compiling

I think because the software is set to preserve italics as occasional instances, for emphasis. However, if I set the formatting override to italics for all the text I still get italics for everything, so it's odd that isn't working for you. If you email windows.support@literatureandlatte.com with sc...

Re: Italic not preserved after compiling

Which compile format are you using under Format As? Some will preserve the italics and some might replace with underling. Try just compiling to preview with a few of the default formats to see which preserve the italics, and then make an changes to create a custom setting from there.

Re: Targets Not Visible in Quick Search Bar

That is the way the quick search is meant to work. It should only display when the mouse hovers there. You can place the cursor in the editor and then place the mouse over the quick search and then type, but that's not terrible practical for an entire session. You could go to Project>Show Project Ta...

Re: typing lag in the search field

There's not a way to only get it to search when the typing is finished I'm afraid, but there are other things that may help. If you click on magnifying glass in the search field you can control where Scrivener is searching. So if you choose Search Manuscript only, for example, any research PDFs will...

Re: No header/footer in front matter?

Yes, that is currently a Mac only feature. The expanded compile interface on the Windows version has an option in Page Settings for omitting a header and footer on page 1 but that's all. (See page 271 of the manual). Version 3 for Windows will have the same options as the Mac version.

Re: One thought to manage content within a project

Most users seem to have a project file per book, rather than having multiple novels in one project. But some some do have a single project with multiple books in. We do provide lots of features like collections, metadata, labels, project bookmarks, document links, etc that allow users to link and ma...

Re: Downloaded free trial but the software is in two languages?

If by left menu you mean the Binder - the list of files and folders in the Project - then these are created from templates with folder names that are in English. The documents can be renamed if you wish. Just double-click on them to edit the names.

Re: Search function unintentionally activates highlighter?

Are you using Project Search - at the top of the Binder, or the Quick Search function, or the Find function? In the case of Project Search the search term will remain highlighted until you click the x to close the search results. In the other two cases the search term will remain highlighted until y...

Re: Will iOS Scrivener be available on M1 macOS??

I'm afraid not. Scrivener for iOS is pared-down version optimised for that platform. Scrivener for macOS has much greater functionality and flexibility. We aim to keep the versions separate for the foreseeable future.

Re: Text cursor not visible in the inspector panel while in composition mode

Thanks. I still can't replicate the issue, but I'm running macOS 11.1. I'll see if I can get another team member to try it on Catalina.
