Re: Unable to scroll down

Just drag the app from the Application folder into the Trash, and then download and install again.

Don't worry, it's not a general Scrivener/Big Sur issue.

Re: Unable to scroll down

That sounds like a good thing to try. Going back to the previous version will not affect any saved boards.

Re: Unable to scroll down

I should have said that when holding the space bar down you should then click and hold to move the board around. You should see the cursor change to a hand. Which version of macOS are you using? You can try resetting your preferences: https://scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb/macos-troubleshooting/res...

Re: Cannot backup to alternative location

What location are you trying to backup to? It sounds as if you might not be able to change the location because of it switching back and forth but if you can try hitting Apple-D when it flicks to Scrivener that should change the location to the desktop. Does Backup Now work? And are the backups bein...

Re: Typing lag

This can be an issue with very complex documents with lots of notes or images. You might want to think about splitting the document up into separate Scapple boards, with links between them.

It can also happen if you a custom background texture set.

It works for me on an older Mac with Big Sur.

Does it depend at all on which font you are using? If you use the menus or the keyboard shortcut?

Re: Unable to scroll down

Are you clicking and dragging the scroll bars or using a scroll wheel on a mouse to scroll?

If you click on the board, then hold down the space bar can you move the board down instead of scrolling?

Have you tried creating a new document and seeing if the same thing happens?

Re: Issue Compiling Script to Word or pdf

Which version of Scrivener are you using?

Are you using the 'Script or Screenplay' compile format?

We have tutorials that cover compiling in general in the Getting Your Work Out section here:

Re: Paragraph indents

It sounds as though at some point you've changed the default formatting so new documents have different settings to ones you made prior to the change. The easiest fix might be to go into a document. Select some text and then got Format>Paragraph>Tabs and Indents and then set the first line indent to...

Re: Setting language for a single document

I'm afraid not, you have to set language in the spelling menu in System Preferences /Keyboard/Text.

Re: Spinning wheel during compiling

You may want to try compiling to another format, but one that is still readable by OpenOffice, such as RTF or DOCX. It might just be a problem with the converter.

OK, can you email ios.support@literatureandlatte.com with full details so we can look into it further. It might be helpful to include a video of it happening. see https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT207935 for how to do that.

Re: Superscript appears awkward

I wonder if the solution you have shared will resolve the issue of the odd size in Word.

In theory it should do. You might have to tweak a couple of compile settings.
