Re: Just about out of patience

It's coming along nicely but there is still more work to do, if you can't hear that yourself from the data, then take my stating that right then, as a way of twisting your narrative and receiving an update . Amber, sorry for the slow response, but hoildays and a clumsy oopsie delayed it. I am glad ...

Re: Just about out of patience

If that's the only communication that L&L was giving, you'd have a point. But the presence of an active beta program, which enjoys lively communication with the developers, and frequent updates *including change logs that include the bug numbers of which open issues have been addressed*, is ano...

Re: Just about out of patience

We’ve put out almost a dozen updates since then, and have closed hundreds of tickets. The software is progressing very well, both internally and publicly. This “vacuum” you speak of seems to be largely rhetorical, care to explain what you mean by that? I can attest to one thing, this “get a handle ...

I know you are, but what am I?

Characterizing L&L's current stance as "told to expect nothing" is disingenuous at best and dishonest at worst. It wasn't a characterization of them. I will disagree with you about it being disingenuous or dishonest. Being told, "it will be ready when it's ready" is being to...

Re: Just about out of patience

Seems to me that these days people do have a reasonable expectation to voice their opinion of praise or critisim, compliment or complaint of a company, especially when they provide a public fourm for their product. I personally believe it's pretty narrow minded and unreasonable to dismiss people who...

with how quickly the last betas - 27, 28 and 29 have appeared, I'm inclined to believe that we are around the last corner and in the home stretch of the race.

Re: what is the deal?

It might be what you are writing or how. I've written 5 or 6 authors...both published and self-published. Usually you can find an email address on their website. one of them I wrote to and asked how he envisioned his story ending, since the last book of his trilogy was never published (and he did te...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

If you have the beta for Windows Scrivener 3, it's under the help menu. Also the window that pops up when you don't have any projects open should have it as an option to choose, even though it's just a PDF. That's my problem, I don't have it installed on anything currently. Thanks for that, I will ...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Is anyone else looking over the new Manual document and drooling? It looks SOOOO good. Reading and familiarizing myself - learning some new tricks too. So happy to be using this solution. There's a new manual with version 3 stuff in it? I'm not sure how I have missed this. Can someone provide me wi...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

So, we obviously have very different IT experiences we pull from. In mine, geneally doing a re-install of a system is the last thing to do or recommend, especially if a user doesn't have an expert present to help them. While reg-cleaners (and even other pc utilities) used to be a hit and miss, they ...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Well... I've had mixed experiences with this solution. If you have enough knowledge to solve the problem yourself, that's almost always the best answer. If you don't, always take a backup *before* you hand your device over to someone else. Katherine For me, it'salways been mixed experiences with ca...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

I can't say I hesitte to recommend them anymore, programs like CCleaner back up the changes they make to the registry so if you need to, a boot to safe mode and re-import resolves any issues that were caused. I've recommended this one alone hundreds of times for people and never had a bad report bac...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Calling a professional member of the L&L team ‘sweetheart’ is condescending and sexist to begin with and your post descends into your own cesspool from there. That was actually the whole point of his post. Giving back the kind of treatment he felt he received. ...snip...windows stuff...snip You...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

...the D drive) in it's supposed installed directory (C drive). It had never been installed on the C drive, and nothing had been moved there. This also broke the uninstaller. I had to manually remove everything I could find from the drives and the registry. After about two months of back and forth ...
