Re: Adding "lines" to the notes area?

Yes, that's probably a screenshot from the Mac version. I don't know why it hasn't been implemented in Windows 3 (Was it there in Windows 1.9?) but it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that the necessary code is provided by the Apple development environment and not by Qt.

Re: Scrivener 3 Creating Multiple Backups

Also remember that when you first open a v. 1 project in v. 3, it automatically makes a backup in v. 1 format before converting it to v.3 format.

Re: Scrivener 3 Latex to PDF

Just a suggestion, the Multimarkdown and LaTeX forum would be a better place for this thread, so perhaps a moderator will move it.

You should look for any answers to that question there too.

Re: Can I add a line feed after the header?

@MajorMajor I had the same question you did. Got around it by setting a "Replacement" in the Compile section that replaces <$blank> with a single space (e.g., " " - sans the double-quote marks). Then, in my header, I added a new line below the text and entered: <$name> <$date> <...

Re: Syncing Between Mac and Ios using Sync.com?

I’ve been using Sync.com for years to collaborate with a friend, even though the Sync people claim it is not suitable for complex projects like Scrivener projects. However the answer is that only Dropbox provide the necessary API to allow Scrivener on iOS/iPadOS to access the project directly and sy...

Re: Export one chapter

Without closing your main project, open a new blank project—preferably saved in Dropbox where you can share it with her/him—and then drag the appropriate chapter into the new project. When s/he's read it and added comments whatever, snapshot the chapter in your main project and use "merge proje...

Re: Unable to license Scrivener 3 using Crossover

I don't know much about Macs. I licensed Windows Scrivener3 on Linux running Crossover 19 by following AmberV's post: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=65803 Hope it helps, Lee Thanks Lee. That would be great, but the process fails when I try to send my email address...

Re: Help for an old Scrivener

I am putting together an e-book written by people with Parkinsons in the Canterbury area about the things they do to manage their condition. The title is 'The New Canterbury Tales' or Parkinsons Progress. Really a quite simple task for someone who used Scrivener to produce a number of books twenty ...

Re: 'Determiners'

The "your" in "your pen" does attribute and qualify the pen (a noun) as belonging to "you"; and as an adjective is a word expressing an attribute and qualifying a noun, then "your" can be seen as an adjective describing possession, namely a possessive adjecti...

Further to this, my collaborator in China contacted me saying she couldn't buy the upgrade, even though she had got the discount code. After a couple more tries it all wen through to the point of entering her bank card details, but she was away from home and, being Chinese doesn't carry her bank car...

Unable to license Scrivener 3 using Crossover

Has anyone here succeeded in getting a(n upgrade) licence for Scrivener 3 using Crossover? My version fails to connect to the licensing server with the following alert: Screenshot 2021-04-03 at 13.18.15.png I have no idea if it's possible or even how to install .Net v.4.6.2 in Crossover (20.0.4, run...

@Merx, fundamentally you and I are in agreement. My "woolliness" comes from the adherence to historical norms. English grammar, in the sense of categorisation, metalanguage etc., is historically based on Latin grammar, which is nonsensical as English is essentially Germanic in structural r...

Re: Removing default metadata fields when compiling with MMD?

Choose the compile format; right click and choose "Duplicate and Edit" ; go to the Metadata pane and delete the entries; Save to "My Formats" giving it an appropriate name; use that format in future.

Re: Question: Scrivener 3 (Windows) pandoc compile processing options?

At the time of writing this, my question has had 62 views, but no attempted answers. Does that mean the majority of Scrivener users are on MacOS? Or that most Windows users have little interest in exploring Pandoc and the compiler options? To answer your question, I don’t think Scrivener 1 for Wind...
