Re: The price of tea in China

It would be nice to try really good tea sometime--I'm told much of what is sold in the US as tea is crap. ...

Re: Insert transcriptions

How you get your transcription is another matter, at worst by typing it out yourself, but once you have your transcription entered in Scrivener, it's fundamentally easy to set it up with different attributes, though it will differ depending on whether you're using v. 1.9.x or v. 3 (Beta currently): ...

It might help those who want to help you if you gave information about how you are trying to create the ToC, along with any other relevant information.

Re: Preset Styles versus Compile

I’m afraid you won’t like the answer much, but you’ll have to go right through your text and mark all his/her dialogue contribution with "Preserve format". Because those presets are more like a "format painter" than real styles, changing one won’t change all the others. I think y...

Don't know what came over me, thinking of F3 and 4 … I use Shift-Cmd-4 virtually every day!

Re: [Beta 27] cannot set paragraph indents

The right margin has to be set at a given distance from the left edge of the paper, so Left margin 1", Riight margin 6" (or whatever the appropriate is for your paper size).

Re: Screen Capture Gone?

That's a function of MacOS. Which version of MacOS are you using? Are you on a laptop, and if so does it have F-Keys or the new-fangled control-strip? Or is it an iMac and if so which keyboard are you using? Normally Screen Snapshots are F3 for the whole screen and F4 to select an area of the screen...

Re: .scriv file format unsupported on iOS?

The OP is on Mac and has v. 1. S/he'll have to download 2.9 for Mac, not 3, as v. 3 for Mac won't open v. 1 projects. Mac v. 2.9 is compatible with iOS.

Re: Custom Page Numbers

You can do it perfectly easily in Nisus Writer Pro: 1: Make sure you know the page number of the first page of Chapter 4; 2: Replace any "Page break" at the end of Chapter 2 with "Section Break > Next Page"; 3: Set the section to have a different footer; 4: Highlight the automati...
