Re: TLS 1.2 for activate license of software Scrivener.

Look in the Beta forum, Linux sub-forum, as there is lots of discussion of such issues with WINE there.

Re: Can't Copy Scrivener Data Files

Have you tried making a zipped backup of the project on the thumb drive, copying that onto the new machine and unzipping it? That's the first thing I'd do if I had to copy a project onto another machine.

Re: iDrive Sync

At a quick glance, it seems OK as a location for your backups , but not for your active projects . Your backups, as set in Preferences > Backups are not the projects you're actually working on; they are there to save you if you hit serious problems. Your active projects are not "files", bu...

Hi,

While I was writing this, having also seen you've already joined the Nisus forum, Philip, one of the macro-gurus on the forum has already posted a suite of macros to do most of what you want.

Re: Unwanted Capitalization

On the suggestions of @BROOKTER, I was thinking the OP could use a similar strategy for their suspension points problem. I would set Scrivener to replace three full stops with the suspension points character during editing, and then set up a "… —> stop-stop-stop" (the forum font doesn't di...

Re: Snapshot and spinng ball

With Scrivener closed, try going to ~/Library/Preferences, find the com.literature&latte.scrivener3.plist and drag it onto the desktop. Then start Scrivener and it will create a new preferences file. If that solves your problem, you'll have to go through and reset your preferences. If it doesn't...

Re: Unwanted Capitalization

1) The auto-capitalisation feature is provided by the Apple TextKit on which Scrivener and many other third party programs are based, so you need to ask this of Apple—KB has pointed out a number of times that TextKit has not been upgraded for a decade! 2) Actually, 'vs' for 'versus' should not have ...

Re: new m1 MacBook air

It runs fine. Somewhere along the line with the development of MacOS Big Sur—now at 11.2.2 so the first thing you should do is upgrade the OS—Apple has sorted out a rather obscure bug present in Catalina and maybe earlier, which may well not be of concern to you[1], but the same may be true of other...

Re: Unreadable code when copy Chinese characters in PDF compiled by Scrivener

H Miao and MERX Using the print engine is a good workaround. It works. Mind you, I always compile to RTF opening the document automatically in Nisus Writer Pro as it is there that I run spell check and check pagination, set endnotes to end of section etc. as necessary. It seems to me there is less.f...

If you do need to do it, best to uninstall the out-of-date version before installing the new.

Re: Unreadable code when copy Chinese characters in PDF compiled by Scrivener

Why do you need to copy from the PDF, rather than a Word or RTF document? Or directly from Scrivener, for that matter? As I said, PDF isn't the best format if you need to get the text out to somewhere else. Katherine That has been on my mind as well, however I can imagine a situation where someone ...

Re: Unreadable code when copy Chinese characters in PDF compiled by Scrivener

Hello Miao, What version of Scrivener are you using and what version of MacOS. I am using an M1 MacBook Air running MacOS 11.2.1 and Scrivener 3.2.2. The PDF you sent has no searchable text-layer, so I had to scan it to make it searchable. I use "PDF OCR X enterprise edition" with Chinese ...

Two fundamental questions: what version of MacOS; what version of Scrivener?
