Re: Beta 39: Writing Tools Don't Work

After reopening Scrivener this morning, all the writing tools work again--just as suggested. Now, that's strange! Yep, no rhyme or reason. They just check out for a time and then check back in. I wish I could figure it out but haven't been able to force the issue. :( This is why programmers drink...

They work fine for me...

Perhaps something has happened to your default browser settings in the OS?

Re: Forced constant beta update

In this thread, we learn that toxic people don't like being called on their toxicity, and that reasonable people are reasonable... Some of y'all who're complaining might want to take a long, hard look in the mirror, and then contemplate just why so many Linux-based open-source software projects die ...

Re: Forced constant beta update

Y'know... When you log on the forum, and find yourself wondering how you've managed to mistake "The Customer is not Always Right" for the Scrivener forum, that's not a good reflection on the customer base here. Some of y'all need to carefully review your understanding of the term "bet...

Re: Changing Character Names Globally In a Project

I think what I'm actually asking for is that there be something of a relational database aspect to it all, which is probably more than slightly insane. Ideally, you could have your character names automatically relate back-and-forth from your writing to the character descriptions, to include nicknam...

Changing Character Names Globally In a Project

I think I already have an answer to this issue, which is that I have to do a global find-and-replace, but is there some way to link the character pages in the Characters sub-folder with the manuscript such that you change things in that one part of the project, it flows through the entire project? A...

Re: Problems at first

Scrivener is a totally different way of doing things, when it comes to writing. I would hesitate to call it a "word processor"--It's more an "idea processor" in a lot of ways. Big problem I find with a lot of programs, Scrivener included, is that the parties creating/writing the ...

Re: Just about out of patience

The beta is available for download whenever you like. Stamping "Windows Scrivener 3.0" on the current beta, releasing it, and charging money for it will have ZERO impact on the quality of the code. So people who are "out of patience" are demanding that they be given the opportun...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

I have to be brutally honest... I think the people bitching about things relating to the release of 3.0 are hypocritical. If the L&L folks released a premature version as 3.0, then I'd be the one angry with them. I find it actually refreshing that a software firm is actually doing the honest thi...
