[LH4755] Change Left/Right or Top/Bottom prompts for settings restart

I noticed this change which adds Top/Bottom to options->appearance>Main Editor When I change either left/right or top/bottom scrivener prompts "Scrivener needs to be restarted for some of the new settings to take effect." However, after changing either of those settings, the change is imme...

RC11: Epub 3 indent CSS not working on Kindle Cloud Reader

Hi, A reader notified me that a book I'd published via Amazon KDP didn't display indents when viewed on the Kindle Cloud Reader (https://read.amazon.com/). My epub file, generated using the Epub 3 compile format (and edited with Sigil) passed all pre-publishing checks, rendered correctly on Kindle P...

Re: RC11 HiDPI: fit page & fit width greyed out

Thanks, that setting works for me. I set a zoom factor that works across both screens.
One thing that I did note, was that Editor Margins: Left/Right affect top/bottom as well.. Can I adjust top/bottom separately?

Thanks

[LH2962] RC11 HiDPI: fit page & fit width greyed out

Hi,

When trying to zoom, I note that both 'view->zoom->fit width' & 'view->zoom->fit page' are greyed out - is that expected? I was hoping to set zoom to 'fit width', to avoid manually zooming when changing between my Surface Pro 5 screen and an extended monitor.

Thanks

Re: How to change template

Thanks for the info, that's good to know. At this point, its probably easier for me to create a new project and drag the first chapter files into it.

How to change template

Hi, I've started a new novel in and started the first chapter, but now find that I chose the wrong template when I created the project. Is it possible to load in a different template over the top, or do I need to create a new project? I checked the menu and manual, but couldn't find anything obvious...

Re: RC 11: Can't press enter in the cork board editor

That was it, thanks very much.

Windows version 1.99 has a similar setting "Return ends editing synopsis in corkboard and outliner views", but the setting is defaulted to off. Maybe, to avoid confusion, it should also be defaulted to off in 3.0 beta.

Thanks

RC 11: Can't press enter in the cork board editor

I've just started outlining a new novel in Scrivener RC11. When I press enter for a new line in the corkboard editor, it jumps out of the editor. No blank line/carriage return,. I've just tried the same on Scrivener 1.99 and I can get as many blank lines as I want when typing into the corkboard edit...

Re: Making Writer’s Block Work For You

I've been lucky enough never to have had a block that's made me give up a draft. Most of my blocks come from not fully understanding a character's motivation for a particular action. I usually spot it during read through, wondering why he/she did that. It's usually easy to fix, but sometimes, if it'...

Re: RC10: Spacing after intial cap (PDF output)

I set line spacing in the 'section text' layout to exact, but that increased spacing between the first and second lines. The style is character based, therefore doesn't support spacing. I am stuck for ideas. The best I can do is reduce the font size, which makes the gap less obvious. I use the same...

Re: RC10: Spacing after intial cap (PDF output)

I would suggest that the extra spacing between the first two lines is space created by that large first letter. The vertical space needed by a font must include the space required for the descenders in glyphs like "g", "p", "y" etc., so even though the uppercase T does...

Re: RC10: Spacing after intial cap (PDF output)

Thanks. Yes, that's the reason. The fix, at least in Word, is to set line spacing to 'exact'. But I've not been able to get it working in Scrivener yet.

Re: Backup fails for sign out

You will have much less trouble if you close your programs before signing out of your computer and expecting Windows to clean up after you. Guys, this is a beta test, I know you shouldn't do it like this, but Scrivener should be able to handle such user actions in a safe manner, especially when it'...

RC10: Spacing after intial cap (PDF output)

Hi, I am not versed in typography, so don't know whether this is an issue or just my setup. I start my chapters with an initial cap - I created a 'first letter' style in scrivener, imported it into the compiler and set the character style/size. But when the manuscript gets compiled, there is extra s...
