Re: Using the templates

Thank you, Amber. I have time galore up here in the mountains to do this. Wine helps and offers an afternoon excuse. ;-) OK. I get it.

Thank you,
AJ

Using the templates

I beg your forgiveness for asking a question that may be already answered. I am in a mountain cottage with extremely limited evening access to the net, and slooooowwww, and can't spare any internet time searching for an answer. Only email works efficiently up here. Can I convert a .scriv project tha...

Re: Keith, a linking issue that's persistent

Are you talking about the "Scrivener Link" menu?
Yes. Accessed via the contextual menu.
Are the folders definitely *inside* the Research folder?
Yes.

I'll send you shots privately.

Thanks.

Keith, a linking issue that's persistent

Hi Keith, I've been having this problem within 2.x, and am now frustrated enough to being it here. I'm shovelling a lot of research data into my Research folder via Paste. I have about 15 other files beneath the Research folder before Trash in the Binder. When I attempt to link a doc inside the Rese...

I've come up with a (flattering) solution.

I just started working with a guy named Kevin. Work related.

So you, Keith, are K2 for me from here on. Second highest mountain after Everest. :P

Ain't that the truth, and after a night of flavored vodkas with friends — Sweet Tea Vodka, anyone? — which I rarely if ever drink.

OH, KEITH, I am so sorry! I've been on this forum for three years and this is the first time I made that idiotic mistake. I must have seen the not Kevin tag as I typed and stupidly used it.

Re: What screencast tips would you like?

Another request, and this could be a quick-and-dirty with no technical whizzbangs required:

Put up the compile dialogues and explain every feature. "If you select this, this will happen...." "If you select that, you won't get this...." Etcetera.

Re: What screencast tips would you like?

I absolutely agree. Crib David Hewson's ideas. :D Workflows, especially complicated ones, would be nice. And Kevin, they would be great selling tools bridging the Mac and Win worlds. It's a helluva lot easier to say this feature is in Mac/Win only for the moment/ever than to cover it seven different...

Re: Using Scriv with Laptop + Macbook Air + Dropbox?

Thanks, Keith,

I like the 'keep things simple' part, and reducing the file swapping risk. The latter is my real concern: keeping it all straight, and since I save repeatedly while I'm working, adding save on Open in addition to the current Close should do it.

Again, thank you.

Using Scriv with Laptop + Macbook Air + Dropbox?

First, the apology I apologize for the anal-retentive quality of this post, but c'est la vie...I need to do it. Preamble I was shocked when I tried the new 11" Macbook Air at the Apple Store recently. Who would believe it was that fast given the (lousy) specs? Since my everyday laptop is hooke...

Re: 2.0, eBooks & iPad

I don't trust my data to third parties. Rather than use a system where my important data is in the hands of a company and a black box architecture I can't validate by source code inspection, I run open source tools on either my own hardware, or isp commodity hardware. I'll always be able to run Web...
