Re: [LH4050][LH4233] Continued problems with Lists / Bullets - moving up/down and changing indent [RC1]

To complicate things a little more for Tiho, Bullet Point are even more broken when used within TABLES. :D 1. CTRL-ALT-UP (or down) ARROW on empty bullet points within Tables SHUTS DOWN Scrivener. To recreate: Create Basic 2 x3 table, then add an empty bullet point > press CTRL-ALT-UP (or down) ARRO...

URL & hyperlink

How do you create hyperlinks in this new beta version? Now even when simply pasting URLs, they become simple text No possibility to right-click and create hyperlink? "Add link.." & "Link to Document..." - wording needs to be changed, or merge them together and then give an op...

MacOS: Scrivener 3.1.5 Windows: Scrivener 2.9.0.37 Beta I did some more testing. Lists: When you create it on Windows, go to Mac and then back - formatting will stay throughout. file.png On the contrary, If you start the list on Mac, then go to Windows, and back to Mac - formatting will be left-alig...

Re: How to create lists with multiple numbered levels: 1.2.1. etc?

Is it possible to create "scientific" numbered lists such as: 1. This is first level 1.1. Second level looks like this 1.2. This is also second level 1.2.1. Whoa, this is third level! etc. etc. Thank you! You can. On Windows Scriv 3 Beta , it will also keep it's formatting even if you swi...

Re: Sync vs Backup Error: "The project seems to be of an older format..."

Thank you!

I've adjusted how I move and open projects. And I never had the same problem again.

Work from local files on the Desktop
- Backup on Save
- Backup on Close
- Backup with timestamp

Wait until everything finishes uploading:
- Dropbox for Sync with iOS only
- GDrive for Backups

FORMATTING: Mac > Windows

I understand the 2 are separate and very different platforms. But maybe someone has some tips on how to deal with the following:

  • Bullets points / lists (at the moment it doubles, when reopened in Windows)
  • Highlighting always start from newline

Sync vs Backup Error: "The project seems to be of an older format..."

When I try to open .scriv which was synced to Dropbox I get an error:

"The project seems to be of an older format..."

When I try to open the same file from Backup, It opens just fine.

Does Sync and Backup processes the files differently?

Tables: Drag and Resize

The only post I found about this feature was from 2011, where for the time being instead of dragging we received percentaged for the table sizes. On Mac it works flawlessly. You click on the table outline, and then drag & resize however you want. On Windows, you have to right click on the table,...

Re: -bak.zip in Dropbox

4 years of Scrivening and I only find about this now. I feel ashamed of myself  But thank you all for a piece of amazing advice! My backup was the simple Save to Dropbox & then save to local HD manually, never even thought about an extra option for separate Backup, or even considered the d...

-bak.zip in Dropbox

What are these files? I assume these are backups made from sync.? They are usually labeled: ProjectName -bak.zip , ProjectName -bak1.zip , ProjectName -bak2.zip and so on... Does it mean my sync failes somewhere and backup is being created? Or are these the extra copies made for conflicting files? C...

What font do you use?

As per title, which font do you guys use the most (when you let your thoughts out)? Recently I had to spend more and more of my time switching between MacOS>Windows>MacOS>iOS>Windows. The font between platforms is not supported well. As such, I have to stick most of the times only with Arial - as th...

Re: Infinite TRIAL mode

I don't know what a "VM rr" is, but if that has something to do with a virtual machine being reset to a snapshot or something---of course, there will always be loopholes, especially when you wholly redefine the context that software runs within. Likewise if you used Time Machine to reset ...

Re: Infinite TRIAL mode

After e.g. 1 day of usage, it does drop to 29 days. Although, after VM rr, it goes back to 30 days. 10.14.6, allows the trial to always start at 30 days. As the result, it runs for infinite amount of days.

Infinite TRIAL mode

Does anyone know if Scrivener will ever have a huge watermark on saved files while writing on trial mode? Or maybe a reduced time?

A feature, exploit or a bug, but just wanted to say that under the latest Majove 10.14.6 VM as a guest, the trial drops every time I launch it.

Re: License

You can *try* to run Scrivener 2.9 on Mac OS 10.12 and newer. It may even work. But that configuration is completely unsupported and entirely at your own risk. In particular, Scrivener 2.9 is a 32-bit application, and Apple has already warned that they will be ending support for 32-bit applications...
