Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

Your opinion is your opinion. You are welcome to share it -- politely! -- but continuing to do so after the official L&L position has been made clear doesn't really add anything to the conversation. Katherine I was being polite. Not sure how you misconstrued that I was not. Glad my point of vie...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

L&L has concluded that the downsides of frequent updates outweigh the benefits. Katherine So, the only options are "no updates at all" or "frequent updates"? Please note that my original comment did not mention "frequent" in it. A small update on progress, from tim...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

If you look back at the historical response to such updates, you would have answered your own questions. There are a very vocal minority of people who respond to progress reports in a very toxic fashion. L&L is damned if they do, damned if they don't -- and I, for one, don't blame them for deci...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

I think Bradley's point has, well, a point. I didn't come to the L&L forum for years. Instead, as a customer of v1 for Windows, I would simply drop by the website from time to time to see if there was any information about v3. If I didn't see anything on the front page, then I would head over to...

Re: The Great Illusive v.3 for Windows

The release date may be illusive, but there's a viable beta that can be installed and used right now. I'm with you, in that I am frustrated that the v3 release has taken this long, but it's not like there isn't both v1 and v3 beta that can't be used.

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

Frankly, I can't see that any of that matters (who's to blame, what the bottom line is, etc.). As a customer (v1) and a potential customer (v3), I really don't care about any of that. I am (unfortunately?) not friends with the developers (i.e. I don't know any of them personally). All I care about i...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

I probably shouldn't jump in, either, but why not? I own a license of v1 of Scrivener and have been using it for years. For what I use it for, it's great. Over the last year, I've been using the beta for v3. Again, for what I use it for, it's been great, too. So, I like the software and will be upgr...

Pasting Text Ignores Margins - Release Candidate 5

Hello. I'm using the current RC5 release and have seem this happening frequently - If I copy any text, or even a table, from anywhere in Scrivener and paste it somewhere else, then margins are ignored and the text is moved flush with the left side of the page. There is a work-around. If you can sele...

Inserting Table Messes with Formatting

I am using the latest beta (44). I have Scrivener set up so that there is a .25" space between the left edge and text. When I place a table, it goes completely flush against the left side (no small space). When I type text below the table (i.e. not in the table) the text is also flush against t...

Error Indicator for Misspelled Words Not Prominent Enough

Hello. I decided to test out the beta for version 3, Windows. One thing I noticed is the Error Indicator (red dots, normally a wavy red line in other software) for misspelled words is not prominent enough. I work on a 4k monitor and even with the default theme, the dots are not easy to notice unless...

Re: Just about out of patience

Big question though, is there anyone who can say hand on heart that they only purchased based on expectation of V3 end August and V1.9 is not fit for their purpose meantime. Wasn't v3 being offered as a free upgrade if you purchased v1 well before the end of August 2019? Wasn't there a similar or t...

Re: Just about out of patience

Regardless, no one has paid for it yet , so throwing tantrums because they haven't met projected deadlines yet serves no purpose. Yes ... and no. There have been some complaints on the forum from individuals who purchased v1 because the website said they would get v3 for free when released. This wa...

Re: Just about out of patience

I think people need to remember--this is not a game. Which is to say, if someone buys the "Finished" product, and it has a major bug that pops up just as they're in crunch time for a major paper/article/etc, they may be losing far more than their newest achievement on World of Warcraft. A...

Re: Open NEW PROJECT in Second Editor?

Thanks, RDALE. Yep. I was aware, but needed the reminder. I currently have a ton of folders, but I can easily make this work. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
