After all those hassles with the Paddle error, I had hoped things were finally fixed. But over the past couple of months, every now and again, Scrivener will revert to trial mode because it isn't licensed. Sure. So the only way I can get it to work again is by recovering a lost license, via email, e...
When I started up the software this morning, Scrivener notified me it was an unlicensed version and would only run in trial mode. It would not accept my license credentials--keeps saying "enter a valid license code". Anyone else experience this?
Avoid the Windows version of Scrivener--it's broken. Ever since they switched to license provider Paddle, it's been a constant series of updates that end up resolving absolutely nothing. Stick with Word.
The latest update has fixed nothing. It still took me 3 reboot cycles before Scrivener would even run (OP: try this, it could work for you), and the pop up message about the license was still there. scriv3.jpg I have been in contact with support over all these months of problems, and I'm done troubl...
Unfortunately the last fix, as others have reported, still didn't solve the issue (although considering how long this has been going on, I'm not surprised). Here's part of my Win 7 laptop log: First, it loads a bunch of fonts: Debug: Loading Font: "C:\Windows\Fonts\upcil.ttf" Debug: Loadin...
The fact that your users are having a problem finding the answers to this problem is a failure on your part not theirs. As others have indicated you should be making a much greater effort to inform your users about this considering the magnitude of the problem. Agreed, they are completely downplayi...
Same thing here. Scrivener became unusable on my Win 7 laptop exactly when they switched over to Paddle--it's always "not responding" even after several shutdown/reboot cycles. None of the updates have fixed it, and now I too am seeing the activation warning. I have made sure both Scrivene...
I'm almost certain it has something to do with the software change when they switched their e-commerce provider to Paddle--I haven't been able to run Scrivener on my Win 7 laptop since then (it's continually "not responding"). The supposed "fixes" they've released have not resolv...
Well the latest "fix" from July 26th hasn't resolved the issue on the laptop, which still continually hangs when first running Scrivner. Enough of this hassle. Thank God it still works on my desktop, so there's absolutely no way I'll be updating this current version anymore. When the next ...
Unfortunately problems persist with 1.9.12 and my laptop. After firing up the computer, more often than not, Scrivener hangs when I first run the software. Sometimes reinstalling Scrivener then rebooting the laptop returns things to normal, but only temporarily. Best as I can tell, it hangs at the s...
OK after a few hours of unnecessary drama, over a couple of days, it appears I have finally been able to properly update Scrivner for Windows. After a reboot or two, I was able to install/run the downgraded version however the old licensing mechanism didn't work of course. In a last ditch effort, I ...
Unfortunately the hotfix release for Windows from July 1st is still messed up. When I tried to install it on my laptop, after being prompted to do so, I received the same error message as before noting that the license check failed and I should email support. Upon clicking through that, I received a...
Confirming the licensing mechanism for Windows version 1.9.10 is broken, I get the same error as others posting here. I had to downgrade to Scrivener 1.9.9 in order to get the software to work (a re-entry of the license was required). Glad this worked as it would have really screwed up the only writ...
