Re: sync,com?

- I really wish L&L would open up support in the iOS version for selecting alt sync locations other than Dropbox (which has become increasingly 'user-unfriendly') Can you be a little more specific. If ‘user-unfriendly’ is a technical issue, perhaps someone can help. From what I’ve seen here and...

Re: I'd like option for Chrome OS and/or Google Drive/OneDrive (Dropbox's too expensive) for iOS.

It’s covered elsewhere, but technical reasons why Google Drive is a non-starter for synching Scrivener, including very real likelihood of it screwing your project. You can get Dropbox for free over 3 devices (more if you don’t install the app on iOS devices) and the free tier is plenty big enough fo...

Re: Would so LOVE to see Scrivener 3 for Windows during the Coronavirus Shutdown

Good afternoon. Please let us know whether the beta version of Scrivener 3 will work after 15.07.2020 or will there be a new release?. There is no backward compatibility and my work may be lost :( If you search on any of the many, many threads where people have asked that same question, you will fi...

Re: Affinity software: heads up

Like you I’ve completely replaced Photoshop. For vector I’ve always used Corel on a pc. Tried the new Corel on Mac but its rather exe. Used to use Premier but full time FCP now. One day I’ll get around to trying Designer - have it, just haven’t had/taken the time. Was going to ‘retire’ but was convi...

Re: [Feature request] Automatic hyphenation

I think this request belongs here, while version 3 for Windows is still in beta. It belongs on the Wish List forum. On the Beta download page they say. A Note on Suggestions To help resolve remaining bugs, we'd appreciate keeping the beta forum posts dedicated to bug reports or questions on working...

Re: Coming changes at Apple's processor architecture for Macs

Although I have access to the betas, I’ve only installed iOS14.

I have two books I must finish so will put off setting up on another partition and Big Sur install until I can devote some time.

Re: ARM

Methinks you might have spoken too soon

No-I was very tongue in cheek lamenting Keith had not released scrivener for arm already.

This written with pencil on iOS 14 Scribble has a way to go but is very useable already

IOS 14

Not that I recommend anyone install on their production machine, however Scrivener and syncing are working fine for me on the beta. Should add I also wrote part of this in pencil l and it works in Scrivener

Re: ARM

So, one day after Apple announces its migration to ARM-based Mac’s, we expect Keith to communicate his Scrivener development strategy. We are a tough user group. Well, we are a little disappointed that Keith didn't have the new ARM code fully developed and available for purchase before Apple announ...

Re: ARM

And devinganger, was there ever a more propitious time than now, when Apple is clear about the notion of universal apps and has just announced changes that it sees as being historic? Apple has not been clear about universal apps. What they have said is that iOS apps will run on 11.0. On Apple Silic...

Re: iCloud Sync

Think that is a completely misjudged, unfounded, and unnecessary ad hominem attack against someone who has politely asked questions about how things work.

Asking a question is not the issue. After it has been explained multiple times and still the questioner keeps on, wears a little thin

Re: ARM

Trying to get my head around why any software company would develop two distinct versions of an app now that Apple has a platform for running one app on sibling OSes that dance and cavort on essentially the same silicon. Because the app for iPad and iPhone is substantially less capable than the Mac...

Re: ARM will be Easy

After watching the Keynote (3am) if Apple is to be believed, it will be simple as, and legacy apps will run under Rosetta 2.

FCP ran smooth as with 3 streams on a development machine.

IOS apps will run natively, though I see no benefit yo running Scrivener iOS on the Mac.

Re: Another vote for the Android version

However, the fact that it is so Apple orientated makes me doubt to invest in it. I see the available Windows version is behind on the Mac version and there is no Android app at all. If you check previous posts in this and other Android threads plus the Windows V3 beta forum you will see answers. Pa...

[quote="Cirrocumulus" However, for that sort of expenditure, I *do* find that being the sole developer of both is not an acceptable reason for not implementing what pretty much everyone else on the planet has done. But apparently, mileage on what is acceptable or not varies quite a bit. Th...
