Re: Scrivener for Windows

The guy who thinks Windows and Office reinstall themselves in their entirety every time there's an update, along with all the other smug defenders you have are the culture you created and let fester here. Even your arrogant dig at me for my various pushbacks at things you should be pushing back demo...

Re: Scrivener for Windows

Updates do not - and should not - mean reinstalling an entire application over and over and over again. I can't even think of anything I use that requires a fresh installation for updates You may have limited experience, then. Under the hood, a lot more software than you think is doing uninstall/in...

Re: Scrivener for Windows

"I would respectfully suggest that these people are likely to be disappointed. Almost all software worth having gets regular updates, and my guess is that people who get the (free or paid)version 3 when it is finally released will have to install version 3.01 within a couple of months, and then...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

Your last update on the blog for WinV3 was almost a year ago. I think that's simply too long a period without updates, and going forward, I hope you reconsider the time gap between them. Thank you. https://www.literatureandlatte.com/blog/scrivener-3-for-windows-status-update OK, for those people wh...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

It's late here, so forgive the brief reply. These are fair points and we perhaps really should post some sort of update. However, I do worry - a worry grounded in some experience - that saying "we're still working on it" is going to be seen by most as a pointless update that is worse than...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

You know, every so often I cruise over here to see what's going on, and it's the same assholes dogpiling people for any criticism about WinV3. You have 28 posts, almost all of them in this vein. The people you are criticizing have thousands of posts, almost all of them helping with specific technic...

Re: Has Windows Version 3 Been Scrapped?

You know, every so often I cruise over here to see what's going on, and it's the same assholes dogpiling people for any criticism about WinV3. L&L is doing a terrific job of turning people off because they refuse to rein those people in and by essentially condoning that this is hostile territory...

Re: Would so LOVE to see Scrivener 3 for Windows during the Coronavirus Shutdown

It will never cease to amaze me that the regular denizens of this forum are always ready and willing to tell people to just STFU when people who are frustrated with the massive delays in this product come here to give their FEEDBACK in a forum whose name incorporates the word FEEDBACK. The fact that...

Re: Reduced Cross-Platform Support

To the original poster: If something becomes a liability just let it go. I'm not implying that you're being mean, or anything like that, only that by worrying by betas, release dates etc, you're not being productive, you're not writing. Agree with the first, but why is it that people here just insi...

Re: Reduced Cross-Platform Support

Any other Windows users here getting frustrated with Scrivener's total lack of support for the platform? Scrivener 3.0 for Windows has now been only available in beta and " coming soon " for 2 years now! https://geoffstrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ScrivenerBeta-Intro-Literatureandl...

but they purchased v1 solely because they were promised v3, else they might not have purchased v1 at all. These individuals could have spent that money on something else or saved it. Instead, they purchased Scrivener expressly to get v3 Don't want to start a fight or anything but.. That could conce...

Re: Just about out of patience

I'll be the first to admit that I'm probably not as fancypants as some people might be, as far as using Scrivener really, really deeply goes. But I just finished a book using nothing but successive betas of WinV3, and the latest bugfix list is smaller than the last, so I'll disagree that it's way to...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

When I was a kid, my mother used to try to argue me out of feeling a certain way using logic. I always hated that because while the logic might have been sound I still felt the way I felt. There was a complete lack of acknowledgement or understanding of the way I felt - it was simply dismissed in a...

Re: unable to verify your activation for more then two months

I had the "cannot validate yadda yadda" last year (maybe year before last?). Nothing suggested by support worked. That machine died a rather inglorious death, and was replaced by a new machine (Win 10) and Scrivener WinV1.x has been working. Had been working - it is now doing the same vali...
