Re: Reduced Cross-Platform Support

To the original poster: If something becomes a liability just let it go. I'm not implying that you're being mean, or anything like that, only that by worrying by betas, release dates etc, you're not being productive, you're not writing. Agree with the first, but why is it that people here just insi...

Re: Reduced Cross-Platform Support

Any other Windows users here getting frustrated with Scrivener's total lack of support for the platform? Scrivener 3.0 for Windows has now been only available in beta and " coming soon " for 2 years now! https://geoffstrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ScrivenerBeta-Intro-Literatureandl...

but they purchased v1 solely because they were promised v3, else they might not have purchased v1 at all. These individuals could have spent that money on something else or saved it. Instead, they purchased Scrivener expressly to get v3 Don't want to start a fight or anything but.. That could conce...

Re: Just about out of patience

I'll be the first to admit that I'm probably not as fancypants as some people might be, as far as using Scrivener really, really deeply goes. But I just finished a book using nothing but successive betas of WinV3, and the latest bugfix list is smaller than the last, so I'll disagree that it's way to...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

When I was a kid, my mother used to try to argue me out of feeling a certain way using logic. I always hated that because while the logic might have been sound I still felt the way I felt. There was a complete lack of acknowledgement or understanding of the way I felt - it was simply dismissed in a...

Re: unable to verify your activation for more then two months

I had the "cannot validate yadda yadda" last year (maybe year before last?). Nothing suggested by support worked. That machine died a rather inglorious death, and was replaced by a new machine (Win 10) and Scrivener WinV1.x has been working. Had been working - it is now doing the same vali...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

I have now paid for this product twice, only to have been left with the same product I had before the second payment. Uh, why did you do that? Your original purchase already qualifies you for the upgrade discount, allowing you to purchase Scrivener 3 (when ready) for less than you paid for the seco...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Here's a tip for the odltimer crowd: if you don't like having to say "it will be released when it will be released", how about just saving your snarky, nasty remarks and stop driving people away from what you say is a valuable resource (this forum) but in which you apparenly brook no diss...

Re: Why don't we do something useful in the meantime?

So, from my point of view the most useful one can do is to use the software the way it is meant to be used. For writing. In its current state. I don’t understand the meta discussion about release dates etcetera. Do you have so much free time that you don’t need for writing your Magnum Opus? If writ...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

I have to be brutally honest... I think the people bitching about things relating to the release of 3.0 are hypocritical. If the L&L folks released a premature version as 3.0, then I'd be the one angry with them. No, they aren't. They're taking L&L at face value regarding the setting of dat...

Obviously, WinV3 is not vaporware - it's literally right there, in beta form. And, it can be used to write. I'm doing it. So are others. You can be frustrated with the lack of a general release of WinV3, but let's not be silly here.

Re: Thank you developers for all you are doing for a 1 time purchase price!

I agree, although some of us have been using (Windows) versions of Scrivener for so long we won't be in the group with the automatic upgrade at no charge. And - to stave off the usual suspects tuning up - I'm perfectly fine with that. I've already bought two (or three, can't recall at this point) li...

Re: Dissapointment in the Windows Team

Because I come to the forums from time to time looking for news on WinV3 and pop in infrequently except for this past month, when I finally had to register and speak my piece. I think this is one of the things that irritate some of the long term users who spend a lot of time trying to help newcomer...

Re: Commitment & responsibility...

I think it's entirely valid for people to voice their disappointment and frustration with yet another delay. Which is all fine and good...but some people have moved beyond that to personal attacks. There is a line between "I'm really frustrated" and "wow, you guys are jerks and deser...

Re: Dissapointment in the Windows Team

Calling the forums toxic without bothering to check beyond a couple of threads that started with insults to L&L and staff and demands for ‘consequences’ to which a few people rightly came to L&L defence and even suggested a little more respectful discussion is unfair and the threats of some...
