Re: [BUG] Layouts

It's not clear what "sometimes" means in regard to a specific layout. Do you mean that Layout A sometimes applies on the large monitor and sometimes moves the window to the laptop monitor? I would definitely consider that buggy behavior. Or do you mean that Layout A always applies on the l...

Re: Forced constant beta update

"Censorship is a very odd stand for a writer" So is advocating for restricted access because you don't like what someone says: Personally I recommend L&L close future betas after 3 is released. Require a signed agreement and retain the right to remove people from the beta that violate...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

This is exclusively an issue with the iOS 13. Anyone using an older more stable OS should be perfectly fine. Anyone that can roll back their device and wait to upgrade should. In regards to rolling back a device, that ship appears to have sailed months ago: https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/cant...

Re: BETA 27. Bug? Layout window too big to use

In the US, only ~20% of desktops have 1920x1080 screens. (https://gs.statcounter.com/screen-resolution-stats/desktop/united-states-of-america/2019). Where to start? 1. Despite the graph's title, it conflates desktops AND laptops, which they are unable to distinguish. (This is from the site's FAQ.) ...

Re: [JH]] "i.e.," always capitalized

LOL, OK. Yeah, when I checked that box on it works now, which kinda begs the question why, if I went to the trouble to add a substitution, Scrivener would assume I did it so that it would ignore what I did? My guess--and it's only a guess--is that the question "What should Scrivener assume the...

Re: [Beta 23] Scrivener On-Screen Type can Look Great

But, to your main point on the screen. I strongly recommend to all my clients NOT to get 4k screens because they are likely to have some software in Windows that doesn't handle it right and it can be very frustrating. Older users want bigger text and when they get 4k monitors they have to run at 20...

Re: Note to Beta Testers: Compile

One would think support in a Beta area would clearly include what is apparently called 'logging', or at least heads up to the person who logs, which could be a much more effective means of filtering with actual attention...no? I suppose one could *hope* that, but in the whirlwind of beta releases a...

Re: Double title in Scrivenings mode

When I click on the Scrivenings mode button all the sub-text items in the folder appear in the main editor window (as expected) but also (which I perceive as weird and possibly a bug) the title of the folder now appears twice in the blue bar, separated by a colon, e.g. "This is the folder titl...

Re: advice on best way to create multiple versions of a play

It seems like this situation is one that collections are custom-made for. If you could break down the scenes into parts that will only be in the long version and parts that will be in both, you could compile the entire document for the long version, but compile the collection for the short version. ...

Re: [Suggestion] [2.9.10] UI Improvements

This is one area where Scrivener 3 is a step backward. On my UHD monitor, the main toolbar icons are--literally--one-third the size of the 1.9 icons. Formatting bar icons are about half the size of their 1.9 counterparts. Additionally, they've been designed to be low-contrast, which makes them even ...

Re: A5 is missed

tiho_d, The OP's image was visible for a short time after posting: a screenshot of the German-language File>Page Setup window, with the Size dropdown open. Size selections included A1 through A4, but no A5, as mentioned. In contrast, my English-language installation has selections for A3, A4, and A5...

Re: What's the difference between those two?

You missed my point, which is "Save Options to File for Theme" does not save only the Theme related colors like you said--it saves 99% of what Prefs does. Here are some randomly-selected settings the "...for Theme" command saved that either I would not want to share or I would no...

Re: What's the difference between those two?

"Save Options to File" will save ALL options to file. "Save Options to File for Theme" will save only the Theme related colors. Useful to users who want to extend the Scrivener Themes. Not in my tests. They both only allow me to save a .Prefs file that seems to include just abou...

[LH2888] Stop right click from opening in current editor?

Is there (or will there be) any way to stop a mouse right click from opening a document in the current editor? I can use right-clicking to open a binder document in a copyholder or quick reference panel. Great feature, except when I want that, I *don't* want the current editor to also jump to that d...
