Hey! That was a great share, thank you for talking time. It does put things into perspective :)

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

Sigh. At the risk of fouling this up even worse.... @Synth, canlin05 was not the person Lunk was responding to; they just popped in to comment on Lunk's style of commenting to EdgarO--who was responding to the OP's (7th7andwich) decision to bail on Scrivener (because it didn't work as they'd though...

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

Having experienced a glitch with line break spacing during compiling using my free trial, these posts have helped me see that it’s not the right program for me. If you had asked the forum how to fix your problem you would probably have got the help you needed to fix it. Good luck with some other ap...

Re: .NET requirement bloating install size

The new licensing library provided by Paddle requires the .NET 4.6.2 (or later) libraries, which is not something L&L have any control over. Does it need to be included in the install? I don't know much about .net or windows, but that seems like a shared library would do better here. .net seems...

Re: Charging for version 3 for Windows

I'm pretty sure that when they announced that deal, they did not expect the wait to be that long. It was originally because Scrivener 3 was now out on mac, and since we where waiting a bit, they threw that in.

Re: Just about out of patience

I just wanted to reiterate what Lunk said. Although they have not made blog posts about it, they have been very diligent about beta updates and their progress. Each time a new beta is released, it comes with changelog that lets you in on the progress the devs are making. It may not be traditional pr...

You're cute when you're needlessly complaining.

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

You paid for Windows Scrivener 1.9. The Windows Scrivener 3 beta is currently free. Katherine Many people bought the product on the promise of having a program on par with the Mac version in the near future. 2 years later, after the August 30th fiasco, you have release further IPADos (IOS) and Maco...

Re: Windows 3 release

The changelog each month shows a lot of progress. They thought it was near completion, but bugs pile up, so they have to fix those before release. It's easy to over or under estimate when we're talking about software development. The "lack of communication" perceived is a bit weird, but th...

Re: Expirations on Beta versions

Charging more would do nothing to speed up development, and often the case, neither does throwing more developers at a problem. Obviously not true. If it was true, then Microsoft would have only one developer employed. Do I really need to point out the problems behind your logic? So first of all, M...

Re: Expirations on Beta versions

Question: Will you be working automatic updates in the software? If so, that would be a nice usecase to test while in beta to have the new beta be downloaded and installed automatically at each end of the month.

Re: Thank you developers for all you are doing for a 1 time purchase price!

I understand that Win3 is about a month from general release and that is why I came to the forums today to pick up a copy of the latest beta and start getting used to it. I am not a developer and have no inside knowledge, but we've been a month away for a while now. I would advice to not get your h...

Re: What Version are you using for NaNoWriMo?

By november, fingers crossed, we should have the final version of Scrivener 3 Great to hear. Best of luck! Be aware that this is not an official time estimate, simply another excited user expressing their hopes audibly. I wouldn't describe myself as hopeful or excited, but thank you for the clarifi...

We are just busier producing so we don't return to this site to read these forums. Now now, no need for the subtle jab, but the positivity sure is appreciated. I know the delays got to many people on the forums, but we're close to the finishing line, and its with positivity and constructive f...
