Re: Latex compile: block creating extra line feeds

It sounds like you may be using the rich text to MultiMarkdown conversion option in compile which will, unless otherwise stipulated, spread lines apart as the idea for that setting is to allow one to write in a largely word processor oriented fashion, with no double-spaced Markdown paragraphs, etc....

Re: Latex compile: block creating extra line feeds

I had to poke around this and other forums before the answer dripped into my two brain cells. My main mistake was to presume this problem lay in the complex way I use Scrivener for producing Latex .tex files. In fact, it's an in-Scrivener style formatting requirement to stop Scrivener compiling Late...

Re: Latex compile: block creating extra line feeds

With 20/20 hindsight, followed by a significant number of naughty phrases, the answer was simple. As a consequence I feel old, dumb, and my technical confidence spanning 50 years ran out of the window at speed (visualise that, fall, and the cartoon look on it's way down!). I'm writing the solution n...

Re: Latex compile: block creating extra line feeds

Revisiting this because the issue remains in latest Windows beta. Given my original example, am I missing a setting somewhere. Feeling a bit challenged although using Scrivener for 7 years. The problem restated is that when compiling raw Latex in Scrivener, the Latex compile with Minted and some oth...

Latex compile: block creating extra line feeds

MWE... Scrivener: ```{=latex} \begin{minted}[tabsize=4,breaklines]{json} "autoload": { "psr-4": { "UserManagementPackage\\UserManagement\\": "vendor/UserManagementPackage/UserManagement/src", "autoload-dev": { "psr-4": { "UserManagemen...

Re: Latex output "Could not convert to required format"

Amber... Hmm, I had no problems compiling to LaTeX in an earlier build (which may have been more recent than b30), but now I am Progress! Amber... Here’s a way of putting it: can you compile at all to LaTeX? Yes. AFAICT so far, double curly braces throws Scrivener into a hairy compile fit,[1] and b...

Re: Latex output "Could not convert to required format"

Yes, as noted I ran into no difficulties with either that or more extreme tests with brackets. I put this out to my developers around the world. Two responded. They are getting the same as me. Would you mind providing feedback on what your compile config is, and what you surrounded my example code ...

Re: Latex output "Could not convert to required format"

Thank you again Amber. Very helpful. There's a lot for me to mull over and maybe come back upon if on reflection it would seem helpful to others. Did you try the code example I provided? <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="{{ str_replace('_', '-', app()->getLocale()) }}"> <head> <meta charset=&quo...

Re: Latex output "Could not convert to required format"

...the newer versions of MMD no longer use HTML comments to pass-thru raw LaTeX code. I can't say how many times I swore when I saw that. Thank you Amber! It explains why using HTML comments within code passed through to Latex was cutting off at --> . Continuing the research for those who may have ...

Re: Latex output "Could not convert to required format"

I've occasionally observed the original issue across different versions of Scrivener and think I've identified one part of what's going awry. I'm currently on "Version: 2.9.0.30 Beta (757109) 64-bit - 28 Nov 2019", same issue. Background: I use Scrivener to write a lot of technical informa...

Re: Windows Beta 19-21 Crashing

@Krastev... Perhaps you should carefully read the reason from the OP, the thread as a whole, and take into account that thousands of users cannot be bothered to respond, feel they don't have confidence in their technical ability for providing feedback, or will be abused if they try to give feedback....

Re: Windows Beta 19-21 Crashing

Thanks for a fast response Tiho. I've wasted a morning on this in an attempt to assist. These are my findings... 1. That Scricener 3 RC1 for Windows crashes within 30 seconds whilst it continues loading 2. This occured on my Windows 7 PC running in both nomal mode and safe mode with networking, but ...

Re: Windows Beta 19-21 Crashing

I updated to Scriv Beta 21, RC1, With prior beta I had no crash problems until this morning (Win 7 PC with 16GB memory). From 07:00 - 08:30 it crashed each time about 30 seconds after loading --- without me touching anything. Only other programs open were Firefox (latest) and procexp.exe. I have not...

Latex output "Could not convert to required format"

Compile for: MultiMarkdown Latex. It compiles, followed by Select encoding pop-up. Document converter pop-up window then reports Unknown error . Version: 2.9.0.20 Beta (640426) 64-bit - downloaded 03 Aug 2019. Used for producing technical book with several chapters and sections. After removing probl...

Single book website software for long-running series

I'm writing a series style book, one episode each chapter. About 15 chapters ready, many in dreft, with a likely 700K+ word count (100+ chapters) when complete. I'm looking for website software to make a single book available by subscription. What I need should have view-before-subscribing pages and...
