This problem has been brought up multiple times. I don't think I've seen any response from the devs. I suspect they don't develop on a touch-capable device, and haven't seen this as a priority. I find it very frustrating that the program is inconsistent with touch interface standards in this way.
I tried submitting a bug report on this but I was redirected to this forum. I think it's related to the problems people are reporting in this thread. Here's my full bug report, including steps to reproduce. Product: Scrivener (2.9.0.28 beta) Platform: Windows (Windows 10 1909) Bug description: When ...
I just have to revive this. I know it comes up every once in a while, but I don't think we've actually heard anything from devs in terms of whether this behavior is purposeful. I *frequently* move a file or folder mistakenly when I'm trying to scroll the binder. The non-standard touch behavior is es...
Re no way to scroll: you can scroll with a two-finger drag. Re maybe this is a new bug: Nope. The functionality was the same in Scriv 1. If it's really something that might be addressed eventually, great! Honestly, I'm not holding my breath. Re not a product: Yes, it's a product. It just happens to ...
Since this functionality is the same as in Scrivener 1, I would be surprised if it were to change. Still, I super wish they'd do something about it. Add undo functionality, at the very least. But better would be to bring it in line with other programs in Windows -- finger drag should scroll, not mov...
I've got a numbered list in my manuscript and when I compile to epub it just disappears. I tried adjusting the list behavior in compile/edit format/tables and lists, but it didn't make any difference. The list was included just fine when I compiled to pdf and Word (.doc). Am I doing something wrong,...
Thanks for the info. I've fixed it by adding <$RST_SCENE> to my replacement list, replacing it with nothing. I don't need scene numbers, so problem solved.
I'm experimenting with compiling my project. A lot of the format presets have layouts that include the code <$rst_scene>. The code isn't interpreted in the compile, though. My chapter headings come out as something like CHAPTER ONE<$RST_SCENE> Chapter Name Is this a feature that simply hasn't been i...
Thank you so much! That was getting really frustrating to not have the session targets working. They make it so much easier to track my daily word count.
I have the same problems. In the editor it selects rather than scrolling. In the binder it drags rather than scrolling. I don't know why it would have been built that way on purpose. Is it possible the developers just aren't testing it on touch-screen computers?
This really bugs me. I like Scrivener but it works differently than every other text editing program on my computer. It's a problem. Consistent user interface is important. Touch-screen drag should scroll, not select. In the document list, It should scroll, not move documents. This gets me all the t...
