Any clue as to App Store arrival?

I can only use Scrivener at work (which I do daily, to manage marketing and advertising product copywriting for a large retail chain) If I use the app store version. Anxiously awaiting the arrival on the app store for work, though I may just spring for the upgrade as well, so I can start using it at...

Re: Templates in iOS

No, project templates are not a feature of iOS - they are desktop-only. You could always create a blank project of your templates, import that into iOS, and duplicate it for new projects if you really need to start such projects on iOS. All the best, Keith Alas, for the way I use Scrivener most of ...

Templates in iOS

Just beginning to explore Scrivener for iOS, and don't see the option to create a new document with a specific template. I use Scrivener for my day job writing ad copy, as well as for personal writing, and have an assortment of templates for the common jobs we do at work (different length emails, ca...

Looks like familiar software here

Richard Kadrey (Sandman Slim series, among others) posted this shot of his mobile writing setup on G+. Something looks awfully familiar.

Re: The status of the next update and 2.0

I add my voice to the throng proclaiming that $20 for a 2.0 upgrade is just fine with me. Go on wit' yo bad self.

Re: Scrivener for Copy Writers

I'm another copywriter using Scrivener (and trying to convince my boss to get licenses for the whole department). I work for a large retailer that does several monthly buyer' guides/catalogs. Every month there are a number of new products, updates to existing products, and packages of products combi...

I much prefer ArtRage 2, although I like the way Scribbles deals with layers. ArtRage has more and better tools, even in it's free version, with seamless tablet support. Though it doesn't have the "everything's still smooth when you zoom in" thing, the way it simulates natural media is, I ...

Yes, iListen has a UK version. http://www.macspeech.com/ is the place to get information.

I've used iListen from MacSpeech for transcription work, letters, emails, and posting to my Live Journal, and attempted to use it for writing. Although accuracy is much greater that it was in the past (95% or better is pretty easily accomplished with iListen, but that would still be ~12-13 words wro...

yType

yType, the text expanding component that comes with CopyPaste (an essential utility, as far as I'm concerned) can be set to do exactly that.

Try repairing permissions from Disk Utility if you haven't already.

It's very easy to do this right now, as Pages does a fine job of saving as .rtf.

There are already lots of text editors with full screen modes that do rtf files. Nisus Writer Express is just one. If that's the feature that you need, then perhaps Scrivener is not the app that you want. In another life, I'm a musician and recording engineer. One of the most common questions I get ...

My personal take would be to use TextEdit if I only needed a simply text file. I think that the tendency to want a single program to do everything you think you want is what leads to bloatware. Keith's been able to keep Scrivener focused on features that a writer needs to develop a piece, and I feel...

An interesting quote on writing

from 19th century humorist/philosopher Josh Billings that I've been using here as my signature ties right in with a well known quote from Igor Straviinsky: "Genius lies in knowing who to steal from." I'm not sure where Stravinsky got that.
