Re: <b33> The new RegEx implementation broke important functionality?

I appreciate the suggestions but I'll again offer an argument: Up until now, I could do ALL my searching, simple or complex, with the method set to RegEx. I also have a 'library' of RexEx strings for various purposes, including the codes for unusual characters/symbols. With the new solution, if I un...

Re: <b33> The new RegEx implementation broke important functionality?

I created a new document (in beta 32) that includes a soft break after the second line in the initial scene.

Note:
I didn't test search functionality in this file, as I assume it will work like my older working documents

Re: <b33> The new RegEx implementation broke important functionality?

Thanks for the suggestions, but at my end, neither \n nor \r (or combinations of those) locates the soft line break. \r seems to locate end-of-paragraph, but fails to highlight the (visible) symbol. (I have reported on this issue in the past) Also, let me offer an argument for searching for specific...

Re: <b33> The new RegEx implementation broke important functionality?

What happens when you search with the Unicode character itself(typing it), instead of the character code? That works, at least for the characters I tested. Unfortunately, that will often not work or is inconvenient. Inconvenient: As far as I know, you can't type a smart quote into the search field....

<b33> The new RegEx implementation broke important functionality?

Before beta 33 I could search for Unicode characters. For example, a RegEx search for \x2028 would locate a soft line-break and \x201c would highlight all left 'smart' left quotes. I have found this functionality invaluable on a regular basis. With beta 33 this no longer seems to work, (although ASC...

<b32> Error message when intentionally aborting automatic backup on application exit

Previously Scrivener merely closed cleanly when one clicked Cancel on the auto-backup pop-up. Now we get a message stating that the backup file could not be created, and the user must clock Ok to close it. This is both annoying, adds nothing useful, and it's wrong, as the backup could be created, bu...

Re: Unexpected result when using Undo right after pasting text

Hi Bryan.

It's been a while, but judging from the date stamp on my downloaded beta installation files, I guess I was using beta 29 back then.

I tried to replicate the issue, using beta 31, and it seems to be working as intended now.

Re: [LH4215] Compile (PDF) Bugs

As for your issue with <$pageGroupTitle>, when compiling are your sections separated by page breaks? If so then there is a problem somewhere, but if not <$pageGroupTitle> will always default to the title of the project, since it goes off of the most recent page break for deciding where the group ti...

Re: <b30> Scrivener not saving column settings for Outliner Mode

I tested after installing b31, and the settings were saved as expected.
That said, the manuscript was probably last saved in b30, so I have no idea why I had this problem on multiple occasions.

Whatever the reason, it appears to work now.

<b30> Scrivener not saving column settings for Outliner Mode

I've had this happen to me several times now. In Outliner Mode, I don't want to see (for example) creation date and modification date for documents, but when I re-open my manuscript, the selections are back to what I assume to be the defaults. 2019-12-10 11_46_50-C__Dropbox_Scrivener_Alicia Everall ...

Sorry for the delay. This issue should be solved in the most recent beta. Are you still experiencing this?

Thanks!

Hi Bryan.

It's back to working as expected in beta 30.

Re: Resource hogging

I noticed the memory usage had increased by 5MB since this morning, so I spent a few minutes flipping between scenes (i.e. files).
At the end of this, the memory had decreased by 0,5MB.

Not drawing any conclusions from this, just adding my observations.

Re: Resource hogging

Admittedly my laptop has good specs, but I see nothing untoward when I leave Scrivener running for 5-7 days (or more).

My current manuscript is still small with only a few images embedded, but I only see CPU usage of less than 1% and 68 MB of physical memory used by Scrivener.

[NB] Missing page breaks for documents not in the main (Manuscript) folder

Issue: Documents in my Front Matter folder never start with a page break when I export to DOCX. I can't say what causes this, but it might be the location of the document in question (Front Matter folder) or the type (Front Matter vs Chapter or Scene) - My Chapters all start on a new page when expor...
