Re: How long is too long and when I should get worried?

Any kicking aside, it's not unusual for writers to have unfinished manuscripts lying around. Some ideas simply aren't big enough to carry a novel length project. Learning to keep going after the initial inspiration fades is a skill in itself. It's probably better to abandon something that isn't wor...

Re: You think you're original, but learn that you're not!!!

I know this is a old conversation chain, but I'm actually afraid that my story reminds somebodys elses work. Or characters are too plain, too ordinary, even in my mind they are not that. But its hard to be ordinary when you have read much and every angle has been already written.

Re: True or False??

There is such an opinion, I relate to those who consider this a myth, since a person creates when there is inspiration, many other factors influence this. That's true that other factors influence too. I know that other peoples presence distracts when I have "writing mode" and because I'm ...

Re: How long is too long and when I should get worried?

If you're not working on it, of course the first book isn't going to be finished. Some books take months. Some books take decades. Don't worry about the calendar. Worry about putting one foot in front of the other on the road to finishing it. Katherine Outch! Did I got just kick to my rear (can I s...

How long is too long and when I should get worried?

How long it takes to write a book? I'm not saying that I have block..I think its more like a pause and I almost know what causes it. But when I should start to worry? I started to dabble first book 2016 and it got serious about year and half after. I got story finished, and it's rough, I still have ...

Re: Am I a Writer?

Im putting this under my first post that I wrote here "Am I a Writer?" so that I cant appeal to it when you shoot me down. About me, couple of words, most important that english isn't my native language and I started to write english to learn it again, when I after school understood how mu...

Dilemma: How to see trees from the forest after you have grown them

One thing that comes popping in is how to see are the characters in balance from that moment when the storie introduces them and when the story goes on. Im afraid that Im down grading my characters, maybe its because when the writing goes they come to be more familiar, they have relations to other c...

Re: About sending your work to publisher(s)

Summarize the entire plot, including the ending. The publisher is not reading for enjoyment, they are reading to learn whether your manuscript is a good fit for their market. Depriving them of information that would help that decision is a waste of your time and theirs. They don't care if you use a...

Re: Am I a Writer?

I believe writing stories as a habit, even for yourself, with no intention of ever trying for publication makes you a writer. Being a writer is not something you become by passing a certain milestone, but something you do; writing. Belief in yourself and your work is paramount to good writing habit...

About sending your work to publisher(s)

I was wondering that you must be wiser people than me  I have been looking for publishers whom I maybe in the future would send my work. On many places there are these reaquirements like 1. Tell me about your self, shortly 2. Write a summery of the a plot 3. Your name 1. Okey, im not too stupi...

Re: Am I a Writer?

Hi NsKu, you must have spent a lot of time and effort on your book. Has it been published yet and can you tell me the name of your book? vex 3 Hi, Sorry, haven't been here some time :) but answer to your question is yes, I have been writing this book about 2-3 years. Is it a long time? I dont know....

True or False??

I read from somewhere that brains need sugar to work. So question is, is this true or false. When you have good and inventious writing going on, are picking up more candy than normal or are you just living with coffee? For me, good peppermint choclate caramels seems to work. I think? :D Have a nice ...

Re: Who should read what you are writing?

Greetings! My name is Juan Manuel. I am trying to write, mainly for hobby. I gravitate towards fantasy, be it classical heroic fantasy or modern settings where fantasy intrudes normal life. I am, however, ver critical of my own writings, and I don't know if I should search for opinions. I found wha...

Re: Book Released!

Wow! Great cover. Looks really appealing to me. Never should though criticize book on its cover but it has to be compelling to stand out and this is just that. Congratulations.
