Dilemma: How to see trees from the forest after you have grown them

One thing that comes popping in is how to see are the characters in balance from that moment when the storie introduces them and when the story goes on. Im afraid that Im down grading my characters, maybe its because when the writing goes they come to be more familiar, they have relations to other c...

Re: About sending your work to publisher(s)

Summarize the entire plot, including the ending. The publisher is not reading for enjoyment, they are reading to learn whether your manuscript is a good fit for their market. Depriving them of information that would help that decision is a waste of your time and theirs. They don't care if you use a...

Re: Am I a Writer?

I believe writing stories as a habit, even for yourself, with no intention of ever trying for publication makes you a writer. Being a writer is not something you become by passing a certain milestone, but something you do; writing. Belief in yourself and your work is paramount to good writing habit...

About sending your work to publisher(s)

I was wondering that you must be wiser people than me  I have been looking for publishers whom I maybe in the future would send my work. On many places there are these reaquirements like 1. Tell me about your self, shortly 2. Write a summery of the a plot 3. Your name 1. Okey, im not too stupi...

True or False??

I read from somewhere that brains need sugar to work. So question is, is this true or false. When you have good and inventious writing going on, are picking up more candy than normal or are you just living with coffee? For me, good peppermint choclate caramels seems to work. I think? :D Have a nice ...

Re: Who should read what you are writing?

Greetings! My name is Juan Manuel. I am trying to write, mainly for hobby. I gravitate towards fantasy, be it classical heroic fantasy or modern settings where fantasy intrudes normal life. I am, however, ver critical of my own writings, and I don't know if I should search for opinions. I found wha...

Re: Book Released!

Wow! Great cover. Looks really appealing to me. Never should though criticize book on its cover but it has to be compelling to stand out and this is just that. Congratulations.

Re: Cliche the writers curse or just ignore it?

"Thirdly, natural dialogue should use cliche as people use them when they speak to one another, that is after all how something comes to become a cliche - feel me? -know what I mean? -see what I'm gettin' at? So, a hard fast rule in some cases might handcuff you." I think you are right.´, ...

Cliche the writers curse or just ignore it?

I want your opinion about cliche. When I started to write my story my friend who has been reading it time to time has giving me these insight what he sees on it when reading it and main topic has been rising up is "Don't write a cliche". It was actually his first advise :D not a bad one bu...

Re: "You should write on paper" advice

When idea pops my mind I absolutely have to write it down somewhere. So learning from these "situations" I'm carrying with me always note book and pen when I'm out. I have post it stickers all over my apartment so I don't have to run to find paper if my computer isn't on. Lately I have bee...
