Re: HeapLeakDetection

Hi. I think heaps are just specific containers of Windows memory. I don’t know if this is still valid (I’m thinking of Windows 3.0 era), but there were User Heaps and GDI heaps. User heaps contained information about applications, and were supposed to be released when the app closes. If it didn’t re...

Undo Button

Hi. I saw a few posts asking for an undo button, but I was wondering if there’s a way to get rid of it or hide it. Hiding the keyboard row doesn’t do it. Minimizing it works until I type something, so that’s not a solution. I’m using an external keyboard/cover for my iPad. I’m asking this because a ...

Re: iPad -Scrivener-Dropbox ’hell’

Hi. I've gotten this if I move the project to another directory (if I create a project on the iPad, often times I want to move it to a more structured location, nested within the top directory that Scrivener originally saves it). Once I sync, I see two listings for the same project in IOS. All I do ...

Re: Another Sync Issue

Thanks for the reply. The Scrivener on the Mac was closed for at least 10 minutes before I put it to sleep, and there was no indication on Dropbox's icon that it was still syncing. If it happened again, I'll let you know.

Thanks

Another Sync Issue

Hi. This morning I was working on a project on my Mac. I put it to sleep and went to work. At lunchtime, I opened my iPad to pick up where I left off. However, after the main screen opened, none of the projects indicated that they were out of sync. In fact, the project I worked on this morning had a...

Re: Session Target

Thanks for responding. That’s what I thought, but I was hoping someone could point me in the direction to fix it. It’s not that big of a deal, but it would be very handy to have it reset from the iPad.

Session Target

Hi. I recently got an iPad and installed Scrivener (and I'm very happy with Scrivener- thanks!). I noticed that session target information is shared between MAC and iPad (and PC), but neither one now resets at midnight like it did when I was just using the Mac. I have to manually reset them on one o...

Add website to research in iOS

Hi. Maybe I missed it, but is there a way to add a webpage to a project like Mac OS? It would be helpful if I could figure out how to easily add one. I see the websites I added when in Mac OS, and I can access them, but I don't see how to add new ones to the project.

Thanks

Re: Styles not maintaining

Hi. I was wondering if someone could elaborate on why styles aren't recommended. My first novel was written in Word using styles for everything (location, chapter headings, first paragraph, etc.) When I transitioned to Scrivener for my second novel, I wanted to continue this approach, thinking it wo...

Re: Compile for Word

Keith,

Thanks for the reply. Good call on the Format Lists - that's what was causing the numbering, although I have no idea how it got turned on.

I'll play around with the settings and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Compile for Word

There's something weird happening with Compile. I noticed that on Chapter 17 in the compiled doc random paragraphs were numbered (the Word numbering was turned on for these paragraphs). Sometimes the numbers would sequence, sometimes they restarted, and sometimes there weren't any. Some other chapte...

Re: Compile for Word

Keith, I have some follow-up questions: 1. "...different header or footer set for front matter" I didn't compile with front or back matter. I don't see where a different header or footer option would be set, anyway. 2. "...if the header and footer on the page after a page break is dif...
