Re: Page count is 2X higher in compile vs. statistics

Correction--I meant 5.5x8.5...whatever the standard is. I think compile shows it as 5.1 x 7.81 or something close to that.

Re: Page count is 2X higher in compile vs. statistics

Yes, I am compiling to paperback format of 5x7. Statistics is also looking at paperback size 5.x7". It should be an apples to apples comparison, but the page count is double after compiling. I checked margins, indention levels, and line spacing as well. All three made a difference, but none exp...

Page count is 2X higher in compile vs. statistics

Statistics shows around 350 pages. But after compile, the subsequent word document is 665 pages! This is not a small discrepancy that can be easily explained away. Something must be wrong in compile. To verify the page count, I found a manual formula online (# of words / 390) and it comes out close ...

Re: Misspelled words have no red lines?

It will not show misspellings if you are in page view. Hide/turn off page view and it will show the red lines again. This threw me off too and took me a while to figure it out. I'm not quite sure what the reasoning is for hiding spelling mistakes in page view, but that solved it for me.

Re: How can i have page numbers before i compile?

This should really not be a debate. It is not a paradigm shift. Viewing page numbers in the editor should be a standard, default feature. It is common sense. More importantly, it is hugely helpful to writers...which is the whole point I thought. Why? Because so much of writing is about the feedback/...

Re: Fixed Indenting? (bad)

To clarify my last message--I am basically asking how to set up the new style. There seems to be no formatting options in the window for adding new styles. Thanks again!

Re: Change text color?

Nevermind, i'm dumb. YOU ARE AWESOME! I just wasn't holding down the mouse on the color palette long enough. Thank you so much! This might seem like a small thing but it is big for me. Thanks again!

Re: Change text color?

Okay, that video shows EXACTLY what I want to do...but it doesn't work on my computer. I do not know how else to say it because the program just does not react the way it does in your video. When you click the colored text box, a window opens and you can easily select another color. Perfect. When I ...

Re: Fixed Indenting? (bad)

Hey and thank you for the reply. I looked into styles and found the option, but do not understand how to create colored text styles. When I click the + sign to create a new style, there are no options for font, font size, and the color box doesn't work. How can I create a style without those options?

Fixed Indenting? (bad)

I indent dialogue. The problem is that when I hit return to start a new, non-dialogue line, Scriniver starts the new line at the same indention level as the dialogue, instead of going back to the normal. Even if I hit back again to remove the formatting and start a new paragraph, which works in ever...

Change text color?

How do I change the friggin' text color? I do not want to change default settings. I do not want "locked" settings at all...for text color, line spacing, etc. I just want to click the friggin text color box and change the friggin color any time I want like every other text editing program ...
