Re: Export to .mobi strips out italics.

Hi keithyd I was not able to reproduce this, or rather, I was able to compile italics without problem. Which compile format are you using when compiling to .mobi ? And are any of the options checked under the gear icon to the right of the compile panel? I'd like to track down what is causing this f...

Export to .mobi strips out italics.

Hi Until recently, exporting to .mobi file and reading on my Kindle has worked fine. With the new update, any words or phrases formatted in italics in Scrivener have the italics stripped out when the file is exported as a .mobi file. Exported to a Word.docx file, the italics are still there. This is...

Re: Beta 34 - unwanted addition to the compile section layouts

Hi You may have been told of this elsewhere because it's such a glaring bug ... when one goes to compile an ebook, the Heading for Chapter One (and subsequent chapters) now has this formula beneath 'Chapter one' in the Heading box: <$rst_scene> This isn't editable within the main program... I was c...

Damn it, so simple! I thought I had done that - normal practice - but it seems I hadn't. Thanks.

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

Thanks Keith. 1) The issue after using find/replace we already sorted out and a fix is coming in the next update Beta 34. 2) About the trailing characters that you describe "<!$Scr_Cs::0><!$Scr_Cs::1>". As I mentioned earlier, if your image has a character style applied to it. Copy/paste ...

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

Glad we sorted this re-draw glitch! About the copy/paste image resulting in <!$Scr_Cs::0>. Can you please upload a project with one document and the image separator, with few steps that reproduce the problem. Most likely you have a character style set on the image, or around the image, which is cau...

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

Re-opening the project without using the text replace functionality should not cause any issues. Can you please upload a small project with few documents and steps to reproduce the issue? Okay, I think I now understand what you meant in your first comment. If I re-open a document and leave in the g...

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

I'd love to have gone back to Beta 32 (having just spent an hour reinstalling and updating 1.9, then copying over my recent work there  ) but I couldn't find it anywhere on the L&L site. Do you have a link? Or a procedure to roll back? The installers for Beta 32 appear to be still present,...

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

We found a problem with the drawing caused by the new replacement functionality. If you have used find/replace please, close the project and open it again. No data is lost, but redrawing the text might not work. After re-opening the project and the document it should be fine. We will release a new ...

[LH4231][LH4237] Screen re-draw issue?

(Posted in the Windows Forum initially, reposted for Beta.) A number of things have come up just tonight, using 2.9.0.33 Beta (799093) 64-bit. First, something from the previous build: I use a graphic as a line-break indicator and until the last couple of iterations have had no problem. Now I can co...

Re: Character style not persisting

Thanks again. I think I've managed to crack the Small Caps-first-three-words thing simply by creating a character style called Section Start. This is essentially a short cut to the Format/Small Caps menu item. So every time I start a new Chapter or Section (after a line break with a divider in it), ...

Re: Character style not persisting

For your second question, you format how various elements of your document are governed in the compilation dialogue. Thanks again - I've been using Scrivener for 4-5 years so I thought I'd cracked it! If I'd formatted the Chapter headings in the past, I'd forgotten how I did it. Anyway, all good no...
