Centred text fixed yet? And new section formatting.

I posted about this at the beginning of July but thought I'd repost to attract attention again. Using a paragraph style of Centered Text for my section separator (which is just letters, not a graphic: oOo) and compiling to .mobi always produces a separator that is ranged left. I've tried using the j...

Re: Formatting styles not working for .mobi

I'm wondering if this isn't related to (or the same) for all compiled outputs as mentioned here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=62150 and with a bug number attached here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=61212&p=314541&hili...

Re: Formatting styles not working for .mobi

Well it seems that Scriv isn't handling centered text at all. I use a section break in my books which is simply oOo - the text letter o in small letters and the central one in capitals. I've used the format button (the icon with lines centred on it), a style definition for centred text, and even tri...

Re: Formatting styles not working for .mobi

Thanks! I could try that workaround but to be honest I'd rather Scrivener sort this out. The new compile function has been a trial since this beta started up, I think. Even when it worked it was - and is - difficult to understand.

Re: Formatting styles not working for .mobi - follow-up

I'm hoping that I can attach an image of the resultant compilation ... nothing I do seems to alter this output.

Formatting styles not working for .mobi

I've been using Scrivener for several years and I like it a lot, but this latest 'upgrade' to the styles formatting is driving me nuts. Exporting to .mobi, I want to configure the Chapter headings to be centred and the first paragraph to be ranged left and have the first 3 words capitalised. Using t...

Re: Export to .mobi strips out italics.

Hi keithyd I was not able to reproduce this, or rather, I was able to compile italics without problem. Which compile format are you using when compiling to .mobi ? And are any of the options checked under the gear icon to the right of the compile panel? I'd like to track down what is causing this f...

Export to .mobi strips out italics.

Hi Until recently, exporting to .mobi file and reading on my Kindle has worked fine. With the new update, any words or phrases formatted in italics in Scrivener have the italics stripped out when the file is exported as a .mobi file. Exported to a Word.docx file, the italics are still there. This is...

Re: Beta 34 - unwanted addition to the compile section layouts

Hi You may have been told of this elsewhere because it's such a glaring bug ... when one goes to compile an ebook, the Heading for Chapter One (and subsequent chapters) now has this formula beneath 'Chapter one' in the Heading box: <$rst_scene> This isn't editable within the main program... I was c...

Damn it, so simple! I thought I had done that - normal practice - but it seems I hadn't. Thanks.

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

Thanks Keith. 1) The issue after using find/replace we already sorted out and a fix is coming in the next update Beta 34. 2) About the trailing characters that you describe "<!$Scr_Cs::0><!$Scr_Cs::1>". As I mentioned earlier, if your image has a character style applied to it. Copy/paste ...

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

Glad we sorted this re-draw glitch! About the copy/paste image resulting in <!$Scr_Cs::0>. Can you please upload a project with one document and the image separator, with few steps that reproduce the problem. Most likely you have a character style set on the image, or around the image, which is cau...

Re: Screen re-draw issue?

Re-opening the project without using the text replace functionality should not cause any issues. Can you please upload a small project with few documents and steps to reproduce the issue? Okay, I think I now understand what you meant in your first comment. If I re-open a document and leave in the g...
