Re: Dropbox and syncing

Got it, thanks. I was making things more complicated for myself than I needed to.

Dropbox and syncing

Hi, When I'm writing in a Scrivener UK stage play project it doesn't seem to sync with that project in IOS Scrivener. I'm having to remove it from the dropbox file then put the same project that I've been writing in into the Dropbox file. But then I haven't got the project to continue writing in. Or...

Re: Unable to compile my UK Stage Play

Hi - I've written UK stage plays. Compiling my final draft wasn't satisfactory for me so I copied it and pasted the script into Word. Works well for me.

Character sketch templates

Hi, I use Scrivener for both novel and UK stage projects. In the former there are templates in which details of characters–age, physical descriptions, goals etc–can be entered. But these templates aren't available in the UK stage play project. Or am I missing something? Apart from the templates, obv...

Re: tabs and indents

Thanks very much. I'll need it!

Getting a play produced is more difficult than a book. Having worked as an actor for many years I do have some useful contacts. And contacts are more valuable than most requirements in the arts world.

best,
m.

Re: tabs and indents

Hi, Well, I fiddled around and finally created a new UK stage play project and chose the format settings I wanted. This has worked okay so now I'm writing successfully in that. The format settings are successful and now it only remains that my writing content is too! Thanks again for all your help :...

Re: tabs and indents

Hello - and thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. I'll study the link you've given me and see what I can do with changing settings. I'll certainly make a duplicate to try that out on. Once again you've thrown me a metaphorical life line which I much appreciate. I'll let you know how I...

tabs and indents

Hi, Is it possible to change the tab and indent settings in a project in which I've already written 20,000 words? My problem is that I'm using UK stage format and I thought I'd set the format to how I wanted it to be. Example: Character 1 Dialogue Character 2 Dialogue and so on. That's all fine but ...

Novel formatting

Hi, I'm starting a novel and have selected the appropriate template. I'm still finding my way around the multiple choices offered in Scrivener and sometimes find it difficult to decide which is the most appropriate for me. I have read, and watched, the tutorials but I often end up more confused than...

Re: I've got that syncing feeling ...

Thanks again for your advice. I'm not sure what drag the project into the sync folder means - I'm ancient and very much trying to find my way through the dark - but I took all my projects out of Dropbox and onto my desktop. Then I checked they were the most recent files and put them back into Dropbo...

Re: I've got that syncing feeling ...

Thanks for your response. Yes, I have 5 Scrivener projects in one folder in my Dropbox. I've now put the project (UK stage play) that's not syncing into a folder on its own. I think you're right and that the project I'm writing in on my mac I've 'saved as' something different from the same project t...

I've got that syncing feeling ...

Hi, I've got two Scrivener projects on my iPhone 6 that I created and write on my mac. One, a journal, syncs without problems. The second, a UK stage play, synced okay until a couple of days but now it doesn't. I press the sync button but to no avail. So, obviously, I've done something wrong and som...
