I bought the PWA permanent licence when it was on sale a while ago. The grammar checker is excellent, but like others on this thread I’ve suffered from formatting issues and other weirdness. I tend to copy and paste a paragraph here and there rather than edit whole documents. Grammarly is also good,...
Hello, I've tested a way to work on the same Scrivener file in both OSX and iOS via iCloud, and it seems to work fine, but I wanted to explain the process here to see if anyone might flag up a problem. Here’s what I’ve been doing: I start writing on the Mac and save it to the Documents folder (a fol...
Hi Keith. I made a quick document using the default novel template and pasting in the text from Great Expectations. I tried to upload a file but the forum wont allow it (file size too big)*, so here's a gif illustrating the problem: SpellingTest.gif If I right click on a misspelt word on an individu...
Don’t know if this will help KB or anyone else, but this symptom was also discussed at Apple Support Communities as having occurred in Apple Pages. The last poster (March 30) says that it was corrected for them in Pages version 8, build 6194. I know Pages is in a black box, but maybe the similar wo...
If you want to unzip natively on iOS you can make a Shortcut to do it. It takes about five minutes with Apples free Shortcuts app. Once downloaded from the App Store, you create a new Shortcut, drag in the 'Extract Archive' and 'Save File' actions, and turn on the 'Ask Where To Save' button. Pete, one last thing, then you can go write. :D Since you’re using an external keyboard, there’s keyboard shortcuts. See the iOS knowledgebase for the list. Also, hold down Command for onscreen list. I discovered this one by accident, much to my delight. And see the knowledgebase article on fonts, ...
I’ve just discovered that Scrivener for iOS has its own ‘Back Up To...’ equivalent using the project share menu (via the Edit button or a Long Press). This way I can save archives into iCloud with both the desktop and iOS versions (opening them on iOS using an extractor I made with the Shortcuts app...
Yes. It's also possible to include the date in the filename for automatic backups. The setting is in the Scrivener -> Preferences -> Backups pane. Brilliant. Thanks, Katherine. Yes. The Back Up To... is kind of the inversion of File->Save As. You end up with a copy, but your Scrivener window stays ...
On the desktop/laptop side of things, be sure to take advantage of File->Back Up->Back Up To... It has the option to add the current date and time to the filename automatically, in a format that sorts properly. That’s a nice feature. If I use ‘Back Up To...’ to save a backup to a different location...

He has indeed, Jim. I have only been playing around with it for about half an hour and it's already my favourite iOS writing app (also, Airdrop in conjunction with the Files app works great for me).
There are other methods, as referenced in these posts. Thanks Jim. I guess I just need to try a few things out and see how it goes. I don't mind a few steps. Just chiming in to say Airdrop works fine (once I convince my devices to actually see each other again  ) . That's good to know Sarsen. ...
Sounds like the best option for your preferences would be to use iTunes file transfer. Thanks Kinsey. Much appreciated. I was hoping for something a little less clunky than an iTunes transfer (like being able to airdrop, or being able to copy files back and fourth from my iCloud), but thanks for de...
