AmberV wrote:Bear in mind, you can search for "*" with the Label setting on, and that'll return a list of all items that have been labelled in any way, and if you want a more focused list, you can use the "Any Word" setting and provide a list.

Ok Thanks.

Show child document colored status label is active on parent folder?

I enabled status colors in the Binder. Is there a way to show an indication on the parent folder that a child document(s) has an active colored status label? When the folder structure is collapsed in my Binder, I can't tell which folder has child docs with active colored status labels.

Re: Inherit project templates?

From all of the replies and from a little more digging on my end, I guess it won't be possible to accomplish what I want do. I'll just do something similar to what Katherine suggested, creating a single multi-dev-blog project. Thanks.

Re: Inherit project templates?

I'll make it clearer. This is an example of the basic project structures I want to achieve: Legend: F = Folder > = folder child level Root Blog Template ["Blog"] F: Draft F: Research >--F:Stackoverflow >--F:Blog Articles >--F:Youtube Tutorials F: Outlines F: Notes F:Trash Child Blog Templa...

Re: Inherit project templates?

Is it possible to do what I want with the "sync to folder" feature? I'm not sure the $include placeholder tag serves my purpose, unless I'm overlooking something.

Re: Inherit project templates?

I'm not sure if this will work. Is it possible to implicitly inherit from parent templates? No. Templates do not have same relationship to a project that an object class has to an instance of that class. A template is just a pre-set starting point for a new project -- as soon as the project is crea...

Inherit project templates?

Is it possible to inherit project templates with the current beta version? Something similar to how inheritance works with OOP in supported programming languages. I want to create a "Developer Blog" project which will contain multiple blog articles. But, over time, it will grow too big to ...

Re: How to assign custom list and checkbox metadata to multiple files at once?

This is for custom MD text entries. It does not work for list metadata (Tried it). If I have a custom metadata text column in the outliner, one line entry in that column can be copied. Then double click the line in the outliner where you wish to duplicate the entry you just copied. Paste. Double cl...

Re: How to assign custom list and checkbox metadata to multiple files at once?

For the checkbox, you can load all the items you want to switch together in the outliner, show that metadata column (View > Outliner Options), then hold the Alt key while clicking in any one of the boxes to check or uncheck all of them. This also works for a multiple selection within a larger outli...

Re: How to assign custom list and checkbox metadata to multiple files at once?

The quickest way to duplicate entries is likely in the outliner, but it's copy and paste/paste/paste/paste/etc. How do you mean? I was looking at the outliner solution too, but could not achieve what I wanted to do. How would copying and then pasting multiple times achieve what I want to do? All th...

Re: Dragging and dropping a PDF shortcut into another open project corrupts it

Thanks, this has been filed. Until this is fixed, the only way I can see around it is to import the file afresh in the other project using the Import > Research File as Shortcut... command. What's happening now is that Scrivener is copying over the shortcut file but treating it as a regular file of...

Re: Adding a folder as bookmark does not list its contained documents

Yeah, this is a feature we have on the list that just hasn't been implemented yet. Unfortunately there's not really a workaround for it now; adding the folder to bookmarks more or less treats it as a single document, so to see its contents you'd need to open it in one of the main editors and go fro...

Thank you! But, please make the default setting propagate to each and every new project and not just be project specific. Thanks.
