Re: How to assign custom list and checkbox metadata to multiple files at once?

This is for custom MD text entries. It does not work for list metadata (Tried it). If I have a custom metadata text column in the outliner, one line entry in that column can be copied. Then double click the line in the outliner where you wish to duplicate the entry you just copied. Paste. Double cl...

Re: How to assign custom list and checkbox metadata to multiple files at once?

For the checkbox, you can load all the items you want to switch together in the outliner, show that metadata column (View > Outliner Options), then hold the Alt key while clicking in any one of the boxes to check or uncheck all of them. This also works for a multiple selection within a larger outli...

Re: How to assign custom list and checkbox metadata to multiple files at once?

The quickest way to duplicate entries is likely in the outliner, but it's copy and paste/paste/paste/paste/etc. How do you mean? I was looking at the outliner solution too, but could not achieve what I wanted to do. How would copying and then pasting multiple times achieve what I want to do? All th...

Re: Dragging and dropping a PDF shortcut into another open project corrupts it

Thanks, this has been filed. Until this is fixed, the only way I can see around it is to import the file afresh in the other project using the Import > Research File as Shortcut... command. What's happening now is that Scrivener is copying over the shortcut file but treating it as a regular file of...

Re: Adding a folder as bookmark does not list its contained documents

Yeah, this is a feature we have on the list that just hasn't been implemented yet. Unfortunately there's not really a workaround for it now; adding the folder to bookmarks more or less treats it as a single document, so to see its contents you'd need to open it in one of the main editors and go fro...

Thank you! But, please make the default setting propagate to each and every new project and not just be project specific. Thanks.

Re: [NB] How to create a shortcut to another document in the Binder?

FYI, L&L responded to the bug report above. Not a bug. By design, the automatically created back-link is not automatically deleted if the original Doc Bookmark is deleted. But they did move it to the Wish List as a possible new feature. By the way, in case you didn't catch it in the manual, you...

[LH2467] How to assign custom list and checkbox metadata to multiple files at once?

How can I assign custom list and checkbox metadata values across multiple files at once, much like labels or status metadata? This feature seems to be missing. Thanks.

[LH4563] Dragging and dropping a PDF shortcut into another open project corrupts it

Dragging and dropping a PDF shortcut into another open Scrivener project throws the following error message and fails to open the PDF in the Editor: Scrivener is unable to load this PDF file due to following error: PDF file was damaged and couldn't be repaired You can try to open the PDF file in ext...

Re: How to create a shortcut to another document in the Binder?

Perfect! :) As described in the manual, now I see the back-link bookmark to the Suspects folder in the target Character Sketch's document bookmarks. But, if I remove the original document bookmark (the sketch added to the folder), the back-link document bookmark in the sketch document is not automat...

Re: Adding a folder as bookmark does not list its contained documents

Thanks. But, to clarify, on the Mac, Scrivener shows a chevron next to a folder bookmark in the inspector. I mean a whole folder is added as a bookmark for a document. Right clicking the folder bookmark and choosing Open in current Editor does indeed open the folder's corkboard view. But, it would b...

Re: How to create a shortcut to another document in the Binder?

Question. Later on, if I forget, how am I supposed to know that there is a document bookmark on the Suspects folder? It's unlikely that I would explicitly select the folder in the binder.
