Re: Scrivener on a small iPhone

I have Scrivener on an iPhone SE which has a 4 inch display (as in: four point zero inches).

Like @NoHope said, I wouldn't want to write any long texts on it, but it's perfectly usable when you have that flash of insight that you want to add to your WiP.

Re: Mis-capitalization after "i.e."

I'm not the previous poster, but I, too, still see this happening (Scrivener 3.1.3, MacOS 10.14.6). The system language is German, but Scrivener's is English, if that matters. It does not happen in TextEdit. It doesn't happen in Scrivener's "Notes" panel as I just noticed. It does happen i...

Re: Fallen at the first hurdle... licence key issue

Glad to hear you figured it out yourself.

For context, here's the reason for your problems: L&L had to switch the license provider recently since the old one shut down, https://www.literatureandlatte.com/blog ... ith-paddle

Ubuntu seems to backtrack from that announcement somewhat, though: https://blog.ubuntu.com/2019/06/24/stat ... -20-04-lts

They specifically mention WINE as one of the reasons.

Re: New comer's cross-platform question

Scrivener 2.9 for Mac should accept your Scrivener 3 license just fine.

Same here. Works when you attach "index.php" to the URL.

I got the impression they updated the forum software last week. That's probably related.

Minor (re)drawing bug, changing background colour

I have a rather wide Scapple board. It's so wide, it doesn't fit the screen in fullscreen mode. When I change the background colour, then scroll sideways to get the rest of the board into view, it initially appears with the old background colour. It switches to the correct colour as soon as I change...

Re: How do I open an existing project?

There's a friendly button "Open an Existing File..." (right next to "Open Recent") which opens the familiar Mac file selection box. Or use "Open ..." from the File menu, like in any other Mac app.

If you're not seeing those, then something is seriously wrong, though.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat wrt Tolino. Maybe we should all email and tell them to go with the times and finally support current standards, such as ePub 3 ...

Re: ToC off by one, but only for a few sections

Thanks for the explanation, Keith. Your solution makes much more sense, too. I didn't like that I had to insert page breaks in the text just to get the print version right. What would I have done for the ebook version, where those page breaks would have been awkward? Controlling this in compile is t...

ToC off by one, but only for a few sections

I've been trying to figure out what's going on here for a while but I'm running out of ideas. I have Scrivener 3.0.2 on High Sierra. I'm compiling to PDF. I have 16 files in a folder in my manuscript for a chapter. Each file is a section, representing an entry in the ToC. I've double-checked that th...

Re: A few simple questions about two macs and a usb thumb drive. Also installations.

The Scrivener FAQ https://literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/faqs explains how to restore your license if you've lost it. It also tells you that you can use Scrivener on multiple computers without having to buy additional licenses. So that should cover those questions. The legacy download page for Scr...

Re: Macbook recommendations for Scrivener 3

FWIW, I have a first-generation 12 inch MacBook and find that of the four devices at my disposal (a 27 inch iMac, an iPhone and an iPad), it's my go-to device for writing. Keep in mind that the 12 inch display is actually a retina display (unlike the MacBook Air), so it has a high resolution. I like...

The Files app is built into iOS since iOS 11. It's not available for download (or for older versions of iOS).
